It looks like AMD is getting ready to release a professional graphics card based on the latest Navi 31 GPU. The Radeon Pro W7900 is already showing up in PugetBench.

We are not particularly interested in the results of testing a professional card in this benchmark, although we can say that the new card is 15% slower than the gaming RX 7900 XTX.

If the Radeon Pro W7900 appears in the free market and as part of workstations, this will be a huge leap from the previous generation. The fact is that the top card in it was the Radeon Pro W6900X, but it was only available for Mac. And for everyone else, there was the Radeon Pro W6800 model, based on the greatly reduced Navi 21 GPU. That is, relative to the Radeon Pro W6800, the increase should be huge.

The specs of the Radeon Pro W7900 are not yet known. For example, the card can get 48 GB of memory, since the gaming model has 24 GB, and in the case of a pair of Radeon Pro W6800 and RX 6800, the first just has twice as much memory (32 GB) as the second.

A completely silent 1300W power supply Cooler Master showed two

Cooler Master brought power supplies to Computex that they claim are absolutely silent.

The younger model with a power of 750 W is really silent, because it simply does not have a fan. By the way, this is the company’s most powerful power supply with passive cooling.

There is also a 1300W PSU. It has a fan, but Cooler Master also calls it completely silent.

A

The secret to successfully cooling such powerful PSUs without too much noise lies in the use of an evaporation chamber. There are no other details yet, as well as no pricing data.

Intel just showed the Meteor Lake processor in operation for the first time today, and today a copy of such a processor appeared on eBay.

Intel Meteor Lake processors will not be released until the end of the year, but a couple can be bought now

The OneClickWarehouse seller, according to the platform, has sold more than 221,000 lots and has a rating of 99.6%, so there is no particular doubt that this is not a fake.

The seller says that this is a processor with six large cores, eight small ones and a GT2 iGPU. The photos, unfortunately, for some reason are of very poor quality, but still one of them shows that the CPU consists of chiplets, which Intel calls tiles.

The seller also indicates that he has two such processors, but nothing is said about their condition. However, these are mobile CPUs that will enter the market only at the end of the year, so there is not much difference anyway. The seller is asking $1,000 for the lot.

So that no more GeForce RTX 4090s catch fire MSI

MSI seems to have solved the problem with the 12VHPWR connector. It was enough just to paint it.

The company did not show at Computex the most simple and equally effective solution. It lies in the fact that a certain part of the connector is painted yellow.

When the connector is connected correctly, the yellow part is completely hidden in the case, which is an excellent indicator that the connector is inserted correctly. If, after connecting, the user sees yellow plastic, then he will connect the connector incorrectly.

The idea of MSI is very easy to implement by any manufacturer, so perhaps in the near future this coloring may become a standard. Of course, recently there has not been a single case of fire on the RTX 4090 or any other Nvidia video card, or it simply has not been reported, but in such a situation it will not be superfluous to play it safe.
