“These signals are caused by radio interference from earthlings, not aliens.” A specialist in the field of searching for extraterrestrial signals does not believe that the Chinese recorded just such
The radio signals recently detected by the Chinese FAST telescope cannot be of extraterrestrial origin. Dan Werthimer, chairman of Marilyn and Watson Alberts SETI and chief scientist of the [email protected] project, expressed this opinion.
According to Vertimer, we are talking about interference created by terrestrial sources.
These signals come from radio interference; they are caused by radio interference from earthlings, not from aliens. We use the technical term “RF interference” – radio frequency interference. RF interference can come from cell phones, television transmitters, radars, satellites, etc., as well as electronics and computers near the observatory
Considering that Vertimer himself has been involved in a project aimed specifically at searching for signals of extraterrestrial civilizations for many years, such a position of his, on the one hand, is worthy of attention, and on the other, it is not very clear why he thinks this way, not having access to original data. But we can assume that he says so, simply relying on experience.
All signals detected by SETI researchers so far are from our own civilization, not from another civilization. From the surface of our planet, it is becoming increasingly difficult to make SETI observations. Radio pollution is getting worse as more and more transmitters and satellites are built. Some radio bands became unusable for SETI
As a result, Vertimer stated that for normal operation, mankind needs to build a radio telescope on the far side of the Moon, where it will be protected from all terrestrial interference.

Tesla workers cannot return to offices, as Elon Musk ordered. There are not enough slots and parking spaces, and the Wi-Fi signal is very weak
In early June, Tesla CEO Elon Musk ordered remote employees to return to their offices, and they obeyed. Only, as it turned out, Tesla itself was not ready for this. At least – her facility in Fremont (California). Workers faced a shortage of tables, parking spaces and even Wi-Fi!
During the pandemic (more precisely, since 2019), the number of Tesla employees has doubled to 99,210 people. And although Musk himself has already recognized hiring as redundant and announced the dismissal of 10% of the staff, the problem of shortage of space in offices will still have to be dealt with somehow.
The lack of parking spaces is what was waiting for Tesla workers outside, but there were simply no empty spaces inside. Tesla has reportedly repurposed some of the space during the pandemic, and of course, this did not take into account the return of the overgrown staff back to the office. It is noted that the shortage of tables was so great that managers still asked some employees to work from home. And those who had enough tables and space complained about a weak Wi-Fi signal.
All in all, Musk’s plan to get employees back in the office was not without flaws.

1.2 million kilometers without changing the battery with zero risk of spontaneous combustion. Manufacturer praises BYD Blade

This week, BYD said in an investor communication that BYD Blade’s state-of-the-art battery packs can be charged and discharged more than 3,000 times. This allows you to cover 1.2 million kilometers without changing batteries.
BYD previously said its new BYD Blade vehicle battery will be a game-changer and usher in a new era of safety and performance for the electric vehicle industry.
In last year’s ranking of global battery manufacturers, BYD’s total installed battery capacity in electric vehicles reached 26.3 GWh. This allowed BYD to take the fourth place in the world with a market share of 8.8%.
Today, all BYD vehicles powered by new energy sources are equipped with BYD Blade batteries. Sales of all models such as Han, Tang, Song and Dolphin have exceeded 10,000 units in China alone.
In addition, the batteries have passed numerous tests, which have confirmed that they do not suffer from the problem of spontaneous combustion, even if the shell and geometry are damaged.

It will replace the Passat. Volkswagen ID introduced. AERO

Volkswagen introduced the ID sedan. AERO, which is built on the pure electric MEB platform. In addition, the dimensions and technical parameters were disclosed.
The car received a body with a drag coefficient of only 0.23Cd. Volkswagen ID. AERO is positioned as a mid-size sedan, its length, width and height are 4975, 189 and 1528 mm, respectively. Thanks to the advantages of a purely electric platform, its wheelbase reaches almost 3 m (2966 mm). According to Volkswagen’s official statement, it has an interior space comparable to the Phaeton.
Volkswagen ID. AERO uses a new interior design. The car uses a lot of straight lines. The LCD instrument panel is hidden in the center console, it also received a large floating center screen, while the car has almost no physical buttons.
Hidden under the floor of the sedan is a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 77 kWh, which provides a range of up to 620 km on the WLTP cycle. 150 kW fast charging will also be supported.
It is reported that the Volkswagen ID. AERO will be the model that will replace the Passat in the future.
