Lenovo’s first product based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 should be the Moto X40, which Mydrivers says could be the cheapest model among the first batch of new products on this platform.

The smartphone has already been certified. It should get a curved screen with FHD + resolution, a rear triple camera with artificial intelligence and a main image sensor with a resolution of 50 megapixels. It will support 68W fast charging and will get LPDDR5X RAM, which will be not only fast but also energy efficient.

Possibly hundreds of millions of smartphones are at risk A

Google, as part of its Project Zero project, has published information about a new vulnerability CVE-2022-33917 that affects millions of smartphones.

Possibly hundreds of millions of smartphones are at risk. A vulnerability has been discovered that manufacturers are in no hurry to fix

The fact is that we are talking about a vulnerability in Mali GPUs, which are used in a huge number of single-chip systems. Google does not specify, but the Arm website has information that the vulnerability affects solutions based on the Valhall architecture. And this means that we are talking about a huge number of graphics cores that have been and are being used in SoCs in recent years, including the latest Mali-Gx10. That is, we are not talking about millions of vulnerable smartphones, but rather hundreds of millions of devices based on SoC MediaTek, Exynos and Tensor.

Arm itself patched the vulnerability some time ago, but the problem is that many vendors still haven’t implemented those patches. This applies to many devices from Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo and even Google itself.

If exploited, the vulnerability is intended to allow an attacker to read and write physical pages after they are returned to the system, potentially gaining wide access to user data.

There are still few technical details about the new product. It is reported about the screen with a diagonal of 6.5 inches and dimensions of 161.3 x 77.7 x 8.2 mm. Also earlier, the SoC Exynos 1380, which is expected to become the basis for the Galaxy A34 and A54, was lit up on the Web. In terms of CPU performance, it is at the level of Snapdragon 695.

Elon Musk promised to release an alternative smartphone on one

Billionaire Elon Musk has promised to release his own smartphone model if Apple and Google remove the Twitter app from their respective App Store and Google Play stores, respectively.

Elizabeth Wheeler, an American political commentator, author and podcast host, asked Elon Musk this question:

“If Apple and Google remove Twitter from their app stores, Elon Musk should release his own smartphone. Half the country would happily give up biased, spying iPhones and Androids. For a person who builds rockets for Mars, building a smartphone would be easy, right?”
