There will be no fundamentally new cameras in the iPhone until 2023

Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared another prediction for the new iPhone smartphones. This time, he said that it is not worth expecting fundamentally new cameras in Apple smartphones until 2023.
In his latest forecast, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says three major iPhone camera suppliers have received orders for 2021. We are talking about the companies Largan, Genius Electronic Optical (GSEO) and Sunny Optical. After examining the technology and product lines, the analyst concluded that the next two generations of iPhones will not have a significant camera hardware upgrade.
This does not mean that the new iPhones will not improve the quality of photos and videos. Keep in mind that many companies are betting on software improvements, so Apple will focus on polishing its computational photography efforts.
The forecast says Largan will take on 15-25% of iPhone lens orders in the first half of this year, with GSEO gaining momentum. Sunny Optical is a new supplier, so if everything goes smoothly this year the company will be ramping up shipments in 2022.
