The year began with a bleak forecast for Huawei. The company will not even make the top 6 smartphone manufacturers

Due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, global smartphone shipments have dropped to 1.25 billion units in 2020. Shipments are expected to rise to 1.36 billion units in 2021, with Huawei failing to even make it to the top 6 smartphone manufacturers.
The most successful smartphone vendors last year were Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi and Oppo. In 2021, analysts predict that Huawei will immediately drop to 7th place, and shipments will decrease from 170 to 45 million smartphones.
As a result, the top five leaders at the end of the year will look like this:
- Samsung
- Apple
- Xiaomi
- Oppo
- Vivo
Sixth place goes to Transsion, which finished seventh last year. These six companies will ship about 80% of the total number of smartphones in the global market.
5G smartphone shipments will account for up to 37% of total mobile phone production in 2021.
