The world’s first non-invasive blood glucose meter, and even in smartwatch format. This was shown by Quantum Operation

Japanese startup Quantum Operation unveiled at CES 2021 what it calls the world’s first wearable non-invasive blood glucose meter, and it seems to be the world’s first such device, regardless of format.
The device, in the form of a smartwatch, is supposedly capable of accurately measuring blood glucose levels without any puncture of the skin. The principle of operation is based on spectroscopy (Raman spectroscopy), that is, it is similar to the operation of a number of sensors in the Apple Watch and some other modern smartwatches.
Judging by the information from the sources, the watch does not constantly monitor the glucose level, but does it after activating the corresponding function, and the result must be waited for about 20 seconds. This is less effective than real-time monitoring, which is provided, for example, by the well-known partially invasive device FreeStyle Libre, but, probably, the developers of the novelty, if necessary, will be able to make their sensor active all the time.
However, the source clarifies that the results given by Quantum Operation differ from the results of the same FreeStyle Libre, but, perhaps, the situation will get better by the time the product reaches the market.
Unfortunately, the online format of the CES 2021 exhibition does not allow us to somehow check the operation of the new device, so it remains to wait for the appearance of some tests, and Quantum Operation itself does not say when it will release the device to the market.
But if it really works as it should, it will be a small revolution in medicine.
