SpaceX has released official specifications and photos of its next-generation Starlink V2 Mini satellites, which are due to launch today, February 27th.

New satellites are the future of the SpaceX Starlink constellation. SpaceX’s Starlink 6-1 mission will carry the first 21 Starlink V2 satellites into low Earth orbit. The satellites will operate under SpaceX’s Starlink Gen2 FCC license, which currently allows the company to launch up to 7,500 of a nominal 29,998 satellites.

Each Starlink V2 Mini satellite will have two massive 52.5 square meter solar panels and a “wingspan” of about 30 meters. SpaceX has already built and delivered dozens of full size Starlink V2 satellites to Starbase in Texas. These more optimal spacecraft are reported to weigh between 1.25 and 2 tons each, provide nearly 10 times the bandwidth of V1.5 satellites. Initially, they were planned to be launched using Starship, but the launch of a huge rocket was postponed many times, so SpaceX developed a lightweight version of the new satellite that retained the original characteristics.

Knowing that the Falcon 9 will carry 21 V2 Mini satellites and that the current rocket payload record is 17.4 tons, Teslaratis concludes that each V2 Mini satellite probably weighs no more than 830 kg.

More importantly, SpaceX said that each Starlink V2 Mini satellite will have stronger antennas and access to a new set of frequencies. Even though the number of satellites a Falcon 9 can put into orbit has been reduced by almost a factor of three, 21 V2 Mini satellites will add about 50% more capacity than about 57 V1.5 satellites.

Larger satellites mean that expanding Starlink V2 coverage will require three times as many Falcon 9 launches, but the areas covered will have the ability to serve several times as many clients, or provide much higher bandwidth for the same number of clients.

Headphones Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 will measure the owners temperature

Huawei introduced the FreeBuds Pro 2+ wireless headphones. According to her, these are the world’s first headphones with the function of measuring the pulse and body temperature of its owner. The novelty is equipped with a dual-mode heart rate sensor and supports the “industry’s first 3D intelligent temperature measurement algorithm.” Data on the user’s heart rate and body temperature in real time is sent to his smartphone, and in case of suboptimal performance, the owner of the headphones will receive a notification.

As for the direct duties of Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+, sound reproduction, the headphones received 11 mm drivers, support for “deep bass” (low frequencies reach 14 Hz) and active noise reduction: a three-microphone system allows you to block extraneous noise up to 47 dB. The headphones also support Huawei L2HC and LDACTM codecs and provide high-definition spatial sound transmission. Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+ has several sound playback modes, for example, as in a concert hall or a cinema, and a six-axis position sensor is responsible for tracking the movements of the user’s head.

Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+ wireless headphones are made in white with a golden rim. They will go on sale in the Chinese market on April 7 this year at a price of 1,499 yuan (about $219).

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will get brand new and fully

According to recent data, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 single-chip system can receive a 1 + 2 + 3 + 2 format configuration.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will get brand new and fully 64-bit cores

According to insider Kuba Wojciechowski, we are waiting for one Hunter ELP super-core, which Qualcomm itself will call Kryo Gold Plus, two Hunter cores (Titanium), three Hunter cores (Gold) and two Hayes (Silver). The platform itself is codenamed Lanai or Pineapple.

If we compare this with early information, then we are probably talking about Cortex-X4, Cortex-A715, Cortex-A710 and Cortex-A510 / 515. However, the insider says that the Hunter and Hayes cores, that is, all cores, will be completely new solutions, that is, apparently, not Cortex-A715 and the others listed above. The new cores will not support 32-bit computing, which means that all 2024 flagships that will receive Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be fully 64-bit following the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro.

In addition, the new platform will receive an Adreno 750 GPU with a frequency of 770 MHz, although this is not the final value.

Wojciechowski was previously the first to point out that Xiaomi will switch to using JLQ platforms. In addition, he was the first to discover information about the modified configuration of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
