The Ride of Unheard of Generosity Continues: Google Renews Unlimited Free Video Conferencing

Google has once again extended the free unlimited use of the Google Meet video conferencing service.
Google originally planned to implement a 60 minute video conferencing limit for the free version of Google Meet starting September 30, 2020. However, in the fall, the company announced the extension of free unlimited access until March 31, 2021. Now Google has delayed the introduction of limits again. This time, until June 30, 2021. Free “unlimited” is kept for users of Gmail accounts.
As a reminder, Google launched Google Meet video conferencing for all users in the spring of 2020. At that time, the service was considered as one of the best alternatives to the super popular Zoom. In fact, unlimited Google Meet calls have a 24 hour duration limit.
In principle, even with the introduction of the limit, free Google Meet users do not lose too much – you can always end the call and start over.
In addition, conditionally unlimited video conferencing (up to 300 hours long) will remain for users of paid G Suite and G Suite for Education packages.
