The “Reaction” function soon available on WhatsApp iOS

Published

on

A few days after appearing on Telegram, the Reactions function is well on its way to becoming part of the Whatsapp iOS options. It must be said that the instant messaging service has been working in this direction for almost six months now. A recent report, which the WABetaInfo site was able to get their hands on, shows that the process is at the finalization stage.

Indeed, the feature could very soon be available on the public version of Whatsapp iOS. It should look a lot like the options already available on iMessage and Facebook.

A feature deployed on beta versions of the application

For the moment, it is not yet possible to react directly to a message on Whatsapp via the “Reactions” option. However, everything seems to fit together correctly so that some observers think it shouldn’t take long.

Thus, the WABetInfo site recently discovered that version 22.2.72 of Whatsapp Beta for iOS has new settings for managing notifications. Among them, therefore, is the option to use the Reactions function. For WABetInfo, this information would mean only one thing: the functionality is very close to being launched on the iOS version of Whatsapp.

In addition, it should be noted that the beta version of Whatsapp iOS in question includes other interesting options. These include the ability for beta testers to decide whether or not to receive notifications about their “Reactions”.

The reactions of Whatsapp iOS: rather Instagram or Twitter

On the beta version of the messaging application, the possibilities in terms of emojis offered by the “Reactions” function are somewhat limited. Users cannot reply in this way to a message using more than six emojis.

The emojis available for this purpose are: Like, Heart, Laugh, Surprised, Sad and Thank you. However, nothing says that on the version intended for the general public, WhatsApp iOS will renew the same system. It may well be that the social network adopts the same system as that of Instagram.

The latter allows users to react to a message through any emoji. In the event that Whatsapp iOS decides to remain on a limited choice then we can consider that the messaging platform has chosen the Twitter method.

Finally, it should be noted that Whatsapp iOS should allow users to have a global view of all the reactions received by one of their messages. These are going to be organized into two different tabs. This possibility will be very interesting for group messages in the sense that it should allow you to do a quick poll.

on

The team behind the popular Instagram network, part of Meta (formerly Facebook), announced the launch of the Remix feature for all video formats.

Instagram allows remixes of all videos

Starting today, users will be able to remix all kinds of Instagram video content, not just Reels short videos.

As with Remix for Reels, users get access to a variety of creative tools for remixing other videos, including “collaborations”, voice-overs, effects, and audio tools. The only limitation is that videos posted to Instagram prior to this update will not be able to use the Remix feature.

How to use Remix:

  • Select a public Instagram video
  • Click on the menu (three dots) in the top right corner
  • Select “Make Remix”
  • Record your answer or upload it from the gallery

The Instagram video remix will be visible wherever the user shares Reels. The developers also allowed users to highlight the topic, date and time of the scheduled live broadcast in their profiles. The function will make it easier to view and subscribe to reminders of upcoming broadcasts.

Even at the time of the announcement of the Windows 11 operating system, Microsoft promised that it would support applications for Android, but this functionality was not ready to launch the OS.

Now Google has finally launched the first beta version of this functionality. Users in some markets can sign up for Google Play Games, where they can play 12 Android games on their computer.

Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea were the first countries/regions to gain access to this feature. Residents of these countries can start testing Asphalt 9, Gardenscapes and Homescapes, as well as several other local games.

The Google Play Games menu is very similar to the regular Google Play Store, but with longer descriptions and information about whether the game has ads and in-app purchases. It is expected that the beta test will start soon in other countries with more games.

Windows 11 has a brand new Task Manager. No tabs, dark theme and rounded corners

Published

Microsoft has already updated its canonical Notepad and Paint apps for Windows 11, and now it’s the task manager’s turn. He, like many other applications in the new OS, received rounded corners, but this is far from the most important thing.

The main thing is a radically redesigned interface. The tabs specific to the Windows 11 Task Manager are gone. Now the main menu is on the left, and the rest of the area is given to the process manager. The Performance menu item looks a little different than in Windows 11. In the application settings, you can choose a dark theme, which is already available even for Notepad.

Unfortunately, the new task manager is currently only available in Windows 11 Insider Preview 22538, and it still needs to be activated using ViveTools. When it will appear in the user version of Windows 11 is still unclear. Perhaps it will be part of a major Windows 11 22H2 (Sun Valley 2) update, which is expected to be released in the summer.
