The Radeon RX 7900 XT will go on sale in the second half of December, but it will not be able to compete with the GeForce RTX 4090 in terms of performance

According to new data, AMD will introduce “two flagships” on November 3 (the date of the official event has been approved for a long time). That is, two new top-level video cards of the Radeon RX 7000 line.

The Radeon RX 7900 XT will go on sale in the second half of December, but it will not be able to compete with the GeForce RTX 4090 in terms of performance

It is not yet clear whether we are talking about two models on the same GPU (Navi 31 will be the flagship), or there will be two video cards on two different GPUs (much like Nvidia with its GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 4080).

However, the premiere in November does not mean that sales will start at the same time: it will be possible to buy new items only in the second half of December. The situation with the Ryzen 7000 processors, which went on sale about a month after the premiere, will practically repeat here.

Reportedly, AMD’s new flagships will not be able to compete with Nvidia’s new Ada Lovelace lineup in terms of performance. And to the greatest extent it will most likely concern ray tracing. At the same time, AMD can evaluate its video cards more aggressively – then their lower performance relative to competitors will be compensated by a lower price.

A pocket sized video card that can also accommodate an SSD

The OneXGPU external video card has finally become available for order. The company has entered Indiegogo, and anyone can now buy the device as part of a fundraising campaign.

The campaign price is $600. At retail, the device will cost $790, which is more expensive than a similar product from GPD. However, let us remind you that OneXGPU is not just an external video card with a large set of ports. There is a slot for an M.2 SSD, so all games can be stored directly on the video card.

Let us remind you that the OneXGPU is based on the mobile Radeon RX 7600M XT, which is identical in basic parameters to the desktop RX 7600. It is worth noting that in this case the TDP is 120 W. The dimensions of the device are 188 × 106 × 16 mm and weighs 789 g. You can also note a USB4 port, a pair of HDMI, a pair of DisplayPort, RJ45 and two USB 3.2. Active CO with an evaporation chamber is responsible for cooling. The Oculink port is used to connect to a PC or console, but USB4 can also be used.

The company promises deliveries in early 2024. The campaign, by the way, is already successful: with the requested $10,000, more than $110,000 has already been collected, and there is still a whole month left.

Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 20GB and Radeon RX 580 16GB

Chinese stores are flooded with gaming graphics cards that were never released for gaming. We are talking about GeForce RTX 3080 20GB and Radeon RX 580 16GB.

These accelerators were previously used for mining, but the boom in AI systems requiring large numbers of graphics cards has led to a shortage of gaming models in the consumer market. So the devices that were actively used in mining came into use.

Most of these accelerators had very simple cooling systems and did not have video connectors. Chinese craftsmen are fixing this: they install more powerful COs and solder video outputs on the card. According to MyDrivers, there are already many such models on the market.

The architecture at the heart of GeForce RTX 60 video

The next Nvidia architecture, as we know, will be called Blackwell, and, it seems, for both GeForce gaming cards and AI accelerators. But the architecture after it, according to new data, can be named after the astronomer Vera Rubin.

The architecture at the heart of GeForce RTX 60 video cards may be named after astronomer Vera Rubin

The well-known and very reliable insider kopite7kimi reported that Nvidia is already developing the R100 and GR100 GPUs based on the new architecture, and the architecture itself will apparently be called Rubin.

Vera Rubin was a very famous astronomer and made many discoveries. In particular, it was her observations of the discrepancy between the actual rotation speed of galaxies and the predicted ones that led to the creation of the theory of dark matter.

Blackwell architecture is named after mathematician and statistician David Harold Blackwell, who was the first African American to be admitted to the National Academy of Sciences, the first black tenured faculty member at the University of California at Berkeley, and the seventh African American to receive a doctorate in mathematics.

Insider kopite7kimi was the first to accurately describe the parameters of GeForce RTX 30 cards, and he also described RTX 40 cards more than once. Overall, it is one of the most reliable sources in this segment.
