Twitch user Mystical Midget spent a total of a year and a half and spent 2,500 hours playing Minecraft to get to the edge of the generated game world. And he succeeded. He started his journey on January 31, 2021 and completed in August 2022, having passed 32 million blocks.

This attracted a lot of viewers on Twitch, and several thousand people followed the finale at once. At the same time, at the end, the game client began to slow down a lot, and the character fell into the abyss and began to lose health. The player tried to extend his life with food, but after a few seconds the character still died.

The streamer completed the passage on the 420th day, after which he restarted the game in order to “play normally” now.

It is noted that the gamer used the old beta version of Minecraft 1.7.3, which is almost 11 years old. The fact is that in the old builds of the game, the worlds were too large, and as you approached the edge, the game physics began to make mistakes, creating grotesque landscapes. In modern builds, starting with version 1.8, this is no longer the case. In them, the game creates a new map when the character crosses the border of 12 million blocks.

Earlier it was reported that specialists from Open AI taught the neural network to play Minecraft, and only from videos.

Chinese handheld game console manufacturer Aya Neo has announced that the first models based on the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor and Radeon 680M graphics will go on sale in December.

Two models are expected to be released at once: Aya Neo 2 and Aya Neo Geek. The first version will receive 16/32 GB of RAM and from 512 GB to 2 TB of permanent memory. In all cases, there will be 7-inch 1200p screens. Declared support for Windows 11 and Aya Neo OS based on Linux. Prices start at $949 for pre-orders. Retail prices start at $999. The maximum price for pre-order will be $1199, retail – $1499.

The second Geek model is positioned as more affordable. It has the same processor, but the most basic version will get an 800p screen. It will have 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The maximum version with a 1200p screen, 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB of permanent storage will cost $1149/$1369.

Both devices have fingerprint sensors, gyroscopes, vibration motors and analog sticks. However, the more premium Neo 2 line has LPDDR5-6400 RAM and PCIe 4.0 drives, while the Geek has PCIe 3.0. But support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 is available for all versions. Separately, we note that all models are equipped with 3.5 mm connectors, as well as high-speed USB4 ports with support for external graphics cards.

As it turned out, this is not all innovations: the device uses the AMD Oberon Plus SoC, made using a 6-nanometer process technology.

On paper, the transition from a 7nm SoC to a 6nm one does not look like something impressive, but in fact, this is what allowed the set-top box to be lighter and reduce heat. Switching to N6 technology can increase transistor density by almost 20% while reducing power consumption. If the SoC heats up less, then it does not need a large cooling system. That is why the “lightweight” PS5 has a more compact heatsink.

However, these are often expensive devices with powerful hardware. And now the company is preparing a new product called OneXfly, which will be a budget solution.

The device will receive a 6-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Inside, an AMD Ryzen 5 7520U processor from the new Mendocino line will be installed. They are designed for budget laptops, Chromebooks and consoles. This is the most productive chip in the line.

AMD Ryzen 5 7520U includes 4 cores and 8 threads, TDP is 15W. It uses the Zen 2 architecture and the graphics are the Radeon 610M accelerator based on the AMD RDNA 2 architecture. But it only has 2 cores. For comparison, the AMD Ryzen 5 6600U graphics subsystem has 6 cores, while the Ryzen 7 6800U has 12.

Note that the processor is somewhat similar to the one used in Steam Deck, but the graphics are weaker. The chip in the Valve console also has 4 cores and 8 threads, the frequency is 2.4-3.5 GHz, and the RDNA 2 graphics has 8 cores, not 2.
