The pioneer iPhone X with a bang was not included in the list of Apple smartphones in which it will be possible to fix the work of Face ID
Up to this point, if you have encountered a non-working Face ID user recognition system, then the entire iPhone often had to be replaced with a new one. However, the situation will soon change.
This information is taken from an internal Apple document obtained by MacRumors. It says that Apple plans to allow both technicians in its stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers to repair Face ID modules on the iPhone XS and newer smartphones.
Apple says it will give access to the TrueDepth Camera service part, which has all the components of the Face ID system, including the front camera. Face ID and the notched screen appeared with the introduction of the iPhone X, however, this model is excluded from the list.
Apple says the company is going to reduce the carbon footprint of its products. Another consequence of this decision will be increased maintainability of the iPhone, something you don’t often hear about when it comes to Apple products. But how much such repairs will cost is still unknown.
Technicians will be able to use Apple’s service toolkit to decide which of two repairs is required – a Face ID repair on the same device or a replacement of the entire device. The tech giant said it will send the necessary documentation this year.

Ross Young, an industry analyst and founder of research companies Display Supply Chain Consultants and DisplaySearch, confirmed his own data that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will be larger than their predecessors. The screens will be 120Hz and still have the same Dynamic Island cutout. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models will retain the size of their predecessors and 60Hz screens.
In the iPhone 17 line, older models will receive the same panels as the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, but instead of the Dynamic Island cutout, they will only have a cutout for the front camera, and the Face ID module will be placed completely under the screen. But the iPhone 17 and 17 Plus models will retain Dynamic Island, but will finally get 120-Hz panels.
