Despite the fact that the new MacBook Pros are already on sale, there are very few tests of these laptops in games on the web in comparison with mobile GeForce or Radeon graphics cards. Today we can finally take a look at a more detailed test.

Previously, we saw only the result in one game (Tomb Rider), where the SoC M1 Max performed at the level of the mobile GeForce RTX 3060 with a small power limit. New tests show that Apple’s solution is still capable of more. In this case, we have three games at once, where there is a comparison with the mobile GeForce RTX 3070. True, its power limit is not indicated, but a laptop is indicated. This is the Razer Blade 15 Advanced Edition, and it offers the RTX 3070 with a 95W power limit.

As a result, as you can see, in the old Hitman game, even the M1 Pro gives out the same performance as the discrete adapter, but there is no benefit from the M1 Max. In the two installments of the Tomb Rider series, the situation is different. The M1 Max performs on par with the RTX 3070 or lags behind it, and the M1 Pro is already noticeably behind. There are also results in Total War and Civilization VI, but no comparison with a discrete GPU.

As a result, we can state that in some games the M1 Max is able to compete even with the mobile GeForce RTX 3070, albeit far from the maximum power limit (for this model it reaches 125 W).
