The most popular smartphone displays are now assembled outside of China. Samsung Display moves production to India

According to the Economic Times, Samsung Display has begun manufacturing smartphone displays in India. The company, which is Samsung’s display division, produces over 70% of displays for TVs, mobile phones, tablets and other electronics in Asian countries such as China, Vietnam and South Korea.

The South Korean giant began producing displays for smartphones from April 2021 at a plant in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The move is said to have provided jobs for 500 people directly and roughly 1,300 indirectly. India previously offered financial incentives to Samsung to set up a display factory in Noida. The Indian government is taking many measures to ensure that the country remains the manufacturing center of the world.

The South Asian country recently approved a $ 1.02 billion stimulus to stimulate local production. The country’s leadership suggests that chip makers will start production in India. Samsung Display has invested approximately $ 653 million to move its display division from China to India.

Samsung is expected to expand its display production to other peripherals such as monitors and other IT products in the future.

No more Exynos SoCs in Samsungs flagship smartphones for at

Rumors have again appeared on the Web that Samsung may abandon its own top Exynos SoCs at least for a while. But new data reveals this question differently.

No more Exynos SoCs in Samsung's flagship smartphones for at least two years. The company created a

According to the source, the company has created a “dream team” called Deam Platform One Team, which will develop an entirely new platform. Recall that earlier Samsung has already said that it is going to concentrate on a new approach and create SoC Exynos, designed exclusively for its own smartphones, as Apple is doing now.

It is this SoC that the new team will create. And, since this is a very complicated and long process, we will not see top Exynos platforms for the next two years. That is, the flagship Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 lines will rely only on Qualcomm solutions. By the way, it is not a fact that the new product will retain the Exynos brand at all.

The new team, which includes about 1000 people, has a task – to bring a new SoC to the market in 2025. That is, the devices of the Galaxy S25 line should receive it.

Given the timing, of course, there is no data on the new SoC and it is unlikely that they will appear in the near future.

The biggest difference compared to the Apple Watch Series 7 is that the screen protector is completely flat. This makes the watch case look more like an iPhone case. You can also see that the screen frame has become even smaller. It is quite possible that the Apple Watch Series 8 will be the watch with the highest effective display area.

Enlarged slots for the speaker are visible on the left side of the case, the usual clock controls are located on the right side. The watch will be able to measure heart rate and blood oxygen saturation. As for measuring temperature, blood sugar and blood pressure, Apple is working on these features, but they are unlikely to appear this year.

Source iPhone 14 will get a front camera with autofocus

According to South Korean sources, one of the major improvements in the iPhone 14 line of smartphones, which is expected to be released in September, will be the front camera. Apple considers LG Innotek as a supplier of such high-end modules. In this case, for the first time, the supplier of the front cameras for the iPhone will be a Korean company, and not the unnamed Chinese manufacturers, as before. According to the source, Apple has reconsidered the attitude to the front cameras of its smartphones as inexpensive components, and now these will be more advanced solutions.

Initially, Apple planned to start installing LG Innotek modules only in the iPhone 15, but then moved the deadlines, so the iPhone 14 will already have a high-quality front camera this fall. It is reported that the new module will be three times more expensive than the previous model, but the owners of the next generation iPhone will be able to use autofocus for selfies. A number of other improvements are also expected, thanks to which the front camera of the new iPhones will come close to the main one in terms of its capabilities. According to rumors, LG Innotek has already begun preparations for mass production of front cameras for the iPhone 14.
