The most popular password in 2020 named
The developers of the password manager NordPass have published an annual report that contains information on the most popular passwords used by users.
The report contains a list of two hundred most used passwords.
The most popular password is “123456”. In 2020, it has been used over 2 million times. The second place is taken by the password “123456789”; it has been used 961 thousand times. “Picture1” closes the top three with the number of uses more than 370 thousand times. Moreover, the first two, according to the report, were hacked in less than a second, and the third – about three hours.
The following passwords also got into the TOP-10: “password”, “12345678”, “111111”, “123123”, “12345”, “1234567890”, “senha”.
The last place in the rating is taken by the password “angel1”. Users have chosen this password 15 786 times.
Seventy-eight passwords in the 2020 report turned out to be new compared to 2019.
