The most expensive GeForce RTX 4090? Unique EVGA RTX 4090 FTW3 sold at auction, last fixed bid is $13,100
EVGA’s refusal to release graphics cards (rumored to be due to disagreements between EVGA and NVIDIA) was a disappointment to many enthusiasts who held EVGA’s 3D accelerators in high regard. However, before the decision was made to discontinue the production of video cards, the company managed to produce a number of RTX 4090 FTW3 3D accelerators. Some of them were distributed to bloggers with whom the company collaborated, and one was put up for auction on the eBay site.
The auction is not ordinary, but charitable: all proceeds from the sale were promised to be transferred to the account of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (Memphis, USA), which specializes in the study and treatment of especially dangerous childhood diseases.
The video card was put up for auction by EVGA itself with the following description:
Limited edition EVGA Next Gen graphics card. 100% of the proceeds will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Shipped directly from EVGA. USA only. This is a working card, but a prototype, and is sold as is. No warranty/return.
The auction was supposed to end next week, but the page has disappeared from eBay. Close EVGA blogger JayzTwoCents reported that the auction took place, but he did not name the final amount. The last fixed rate was $13,100.

ASRock, Gainward, and Inno3D easily outperformed MSI, Asus, and Gigabyte, while Sapphire was among the worst. Statistics of warranty claims for video cards appeared

One of the largest Swiss retailers of computer equipment, Digitec, shared some interesting statistics regarding warranty cases for various devices and various manufacturers.
For example, you can see that for video cards, ASRock, Gainward and Inno3D are the best in this indicator, which is quite curious, given that these are generally brands aimed at the budget conscious buyer. The same MSI score is six times higher than ASRock, and the worst are Sapphire and XFX. At the same time, Sapphire is the best when it comes to the terms of the settlement of warranty obligations: the company copes on average in just three days, many times ahead of its competitors.
In the case of motherboards, firstly, in general, there are more warranty claims, and secondly, MSI and Asus are already the best here.
However, the situation with the timing of the consideration of guarantee applications cannot be projected onto other countries, while the indicators regarding the frequency of these applications can even be kept in mind, regardless of the country.

AMD wants to make Ryzen 7000 motherboards even cheaper. The company will release two versions of the A620 chipset

AMD can prepare not only the budget A620 chipset, but also its even more affordable version.
Resource HKEPC claims that the A620 will be available in two versions. The Promontory 21 version will appear first, and later another version will come out, possibly on Promontory 22. Since Promontory 21 itself is used in more expensive motherboards, it is not well suited for budget models. And the cheaper Promontory 22 will allow manufacturers to produce more affordable boards.
Technically, there should be no difference from the user’s point of view. AMD has previously promised motherboards for the AM5 platform starting at $125, but so far the minimum prices for models based on the B650 chipset start at about $160.
