Sales of Intel Arc A770 and Arc A750 video cards will start soon, but both new products have already been tested in Geekbench, which allows you to get an impression of their performance both relative to each other and relative to other models.

The Intel Arc A770 and Arc A750 graphics cards were tested on Geekbench. They have a slight difference in performance, but even the top A770 is not faster than the GeForce RTX 3060

Both models were tested as part of an assembly with a Core i9-12900KS processor and an Asus ROG Z690 Apex motherboard. Arc A770, recall, has 16 GB of GDDR6 memory and 4096 FP32 cores. Arc A750 parameters – 8 GB GDDR6 and 3584 FP32 cores.

The difference in GPU configuration is noticeable, but not significant. And the tests say the same. In Vulkan, the Arc A770 scored 73,536 points and the Arc A750 scored 66,609. The difference is just over 10%. In OpenCL, Arc A770 received 99,482 points, and Arc A750 – 88,288. The difference is 12% in favor of the older model.

As you can see, the performance of these two models does not differ much, and here a lot can be decided by the price. At the same time, it should be noted that even the top Arc A770 is only at the level of the GeForce RTX 3060, although it was previously said that the Arc A770 will be able to compete with the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. However, it is possible that Arc A770 will be rehabilitated in real applications (games).

666 W and two potentially dangerous 12VHPWR connectors at once. Galax GeForce RTX 4090 HOF unveiled

666 W and two potentially dangerous 12VHPWR connectors at once

Galax has fully introduced the GeForce RTX 4090 HOF graphics cards.

There are two models: OC Lab and OC Lab Plus. But in any case, we are talking about the most powerful RTX 4090 on the market and, as a result, the most productive graphics card in general. True, with a caveat.

The fact is that the novelty has two modes of operation. The standard GPU frequency is 2520 MHz for both versions. In Performance mode, the core frequency of OC Lab rises to 2595 MHz, while for OC Lab Plus it already reaches 2625 MHz. And that’s lower than the Asus ROG Strix OC or MSI Suprim Liquid at 2640 MHz. But here the power limit in this mode rises to a symbolic 666 watts. At what frequencies the GPU will work in this mode in real conditions, it is not clear, so we need to wait for the tests. But from the point of view of the power limit, there is no equal to the novelty. By the way, 666 W is more than the allowable 600 W for the new 12VHPWR connector. But everything is explained simply: the new Galax products have two such connectors. True, this means that the risk of incorrectly connecting the power is doubled.

As for the rest, we can note the complete display and a length of 344 mm.

Even the $900 RX 7900 XT is enough to compete with the $1200 GeForce RTX 4080. There are tests in 3DMark

Even the 900 RX 7900 XT is enough to compete

As we learned today, reviews of the Radeon RX 7900 video cards will be published on December 12th. But the first tests in normal benchmarks appeared today.

Even the $900 RX 7900 XT is enough to compete with the $1200 GeForce RTX 4080. There are tests in 3DMark

Both of AMD’s new products lit up in 3DMark. Unfortunately, in the Fire Strike and Time Spy tests, which are quite old, it is still much better than the results in Geekbench.

True, the results of AMD’s new products themselves look debatable. In Time Spy at 4K, there is almost no difference between the RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT, and both cards perform roughly on par with the GeForce RTX 4080.

In Fire Strike, the younger RX 7900 XT is already successfully fighting the RTX 4080, and the older RX 7900 XTX is about 10% faster. Relative to the RX 6950 XT, AMD’s new flagship provides a gain of 25-30%, which is rather modest. And this can be written down as a minus for AMD’s new products, especially against the background of the catastrophically more powerful RTX 4090.

However, keep in mind the prices. The RX 7900 XT, which in both tests is quite suitable for a direct competitor to the RTX 4080 in terms of performance, is cheaper than the Nvidia card by $300 or 25%! And against this background, the lag behind the RTX 4090 is completely irrelevant. And if you calculate the ratio of performance and price, AMD’s new products look much better than the same RTX 4090, not to mention the RTX 4080.

Of course, in games the situation may be somewhat different, especially since these 3DMark tests are very old. But here it is worth noting that, if you look at the comparison of the RTX 30 and RX 6000 cards, the balance of power roughly corresponds to what the cards show in games.

Radeon RX 7900 Video Card Reviews To Be Published Earlier

The Radeon RX 7900 graphics cards will go on sale on December 13th. Previously, it was believed that the reviews would be published on the same day, but now it turned out that they were not.

Reviews will appear on December 12, that is, the day before the launch. This will allow everyone to get acquainted with the new products and decide on the purchase before the start of sales. On December 12, reviews of both new AMD video cards will be published at once.

Recall that the Radeon RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX are priced at $900 and $1,000 respectively. This is in the US and excluding taxes. At the moment, Nvidia has no direct competitors for these new products. The RTX 4070 Ti, with an expected price of $900, won’t be released until January, while the RTX 4080 is priced at $1,200. True, there are rumors that Nvidia will lower the price a little, and even without this the adapter is already available in some places at a price below the recommended one, but it is unlikely that the RTX 4080 will cost $1000 to directly compete with the new AMD flagship.
