The huge MacBook Air won’t be Apple’s first M3 laptop. The novelty will be equipped with SoC M2
According to DigiTimes, cited by WCCF Tech, the big MacBook Air we recently talked about won’t get Apple’s new M3 SoC after all.
The source says that the novelty will be based on the same M2 platform as the new generation 13-inch MacBook Air. The novelty is expected in the second quarter. Recall that Ross Young, an industry analyst and founder of research companies Display Supply Chain Consultants and DisplaySearch, recently claimed that the laptop will be released in April, so the data from different sources is approximately the same.
As for the platform, previously well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also suggested that perhaps the big Air could get not only the M2 SoC, but also the M2 Pro. But whether such an Apple laptop is needed in its line is hard to say.
