The historic space mission will end on December 11th. On this day, the NASA Orion spacecraft, which circled the moon, will return to Earth
Today, the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that the Orion spacecraft, which flew around the moon as part of the Artemis 1 mission, will return to Earth on December 11.
“Orion began its journey to Earth, firing on Dec. 1 to leave lunar orbit thousands of miles above the moon’s surface. Engineers have tested systems to better understand how the spacecraft works in anticipation of future missions with astronauts on board.,” NASA said.
On the occasion of the return of Orion, the US space agency has scheduled several press conferences. The first will take place on December 5, and will discuss the flyby of the moon. At a press event on December 8, Orion will be told about how Orion will enter the Earth’s atmosphere, how it will descend and how it will splash down in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego (California, USA). Finally, the final press conference on the fact of Orion splashdown is on December 11th.
A lot of attention is focused on Orion because astronauts will later go to the Moon on this ship (as part of the Artemis 2 mission, scheduled for 2024). In turn, the flight to the Moon is considered by NASA as a training mission for a manned flight to Mars.

Apple’s sales of almost everything and almost everywhere have fallen. Last quarter showed the biggest drop in six years

Apple has reported for the first quarter of its fiscal year 2023, which ended on December 31, 2022.
And it is immediately worth noting that the revenue for the quarter amounted to 96.39 billion dollars, which is 5% less than a year earlier. And this is Apple’s first year-on-year drop in quarterly revenue since 2019 and the biggest drop since 2016.
Operating income fell from $41.5 billion to $36 billion, while net income was $30 billion from $34.6 billion a year earlier. That is, these figures also fell, and more than 5%.
Regionally speaking, Apple’s sales have fallen in all major markets. As for products, almost all areas showed a decline, except for services and tablets.
iPhone sales fell from $71.6 billion to $65.8 billion, Mac sales fell from $10.9 billion to $7.7 billion, and wearable and home electronics sales dropped from $14.7 billion to $13.5 billion. But the tablets showed growth, and impressive: from 7.2 to 9.4 billion dollars. Services brought to the company 20.8 billion dollars against 19.5 billion the previous year.
The Apple CEO said that three factors influenced the results of the quarter: a strong dollar, problems with manufacturing in China and the macroeconomic environment in general.

This Geely crossover can accelerate to 100 km / h in 3 seconds. Zeekr X quality images

The Chinese resource Autohome has published high-quality images of the Zeekr X compact electric crossover (Zeekr brand is owned by Geeky). It will be the brand’s third model after the Zeekr 001 premium hatchback and the Zeekr 009 minivan.
The Zeekr X has some things in common with the Zeekr 001, but in general the crossover has received an individual look. Of the features – the absence of door handles, frameless windows, “muscular” sidewalls and a straightened roofline for more headroom for rear passengers.
The Zeekr X will be based on the Geely SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform, which is also used by Volvo. Despite its compactness (dimensions – 4450 x 1836 x 1572 mm), the car will be quite spacious inside, as the wheelbase is 2750 mm long. For comparison, the current Hyundai Santa Fe with a length of 4785 mm has a wheelbase of 2765 mm.
What will be the traction batteries and electric motors – one can only guess for now, but Geely has already officially announced that the Zeekr X will accelerate to 100 km / h in 3 seconds.
