Volkswagen has released an image showing the silhouette of the electric vehicle now known as the VW Project Trinity. CEO Ralf Brandstätter called the development “our dream software machine.”
Like any concept, VW Project Trinity is designed with advanced self-driving capabilities, long-range electric powertrains and fast battery charging technology in mind. However, an indication of the software component makes it clear what the manufacturer is highlighting in its plans.
Instead of building several versions of the same car with different capabilities, the company will release one, but the features will only be unlocked “on demand” – probably for a fee. Tesla has taken a similar approach, making it possible to turn on the autopilot for an additional fee after buying the car. BMW has gone further and tried selling features using a subscription model and is considering expanding this practice. According to Autoblog, VW will have an on-demand unlock model extending to features such as four-wheel drive or GTI-level aerodynamics and handling packages with pay per minute or pay per mileage.
According to the director, VW “in the future, the individual configuration of the vehicle will no longer be determined at the time of purchase.” Instead, users “will be able to add features on demand at any time through the digital ecosystem in the car.”
According to VW’s plans, production of this electric vehicle is slated to begin in 2026.

No more accidents with electric scooters? Kicksharing “Jurent” is testing scooters with autopilot and obstacle recognition
The kicksharing service Yurent is testing a new generation of electric scooters with the function of autonomous movement and obstacle recognition. “Yurent kicksharing service is testing a new scooter model equipped with a camera and computer vision technology. The scooter has the function of autonomous movement and can independently recognize obstacles to avoid collisions.– reported in the press service of “Yurent”.
The scooter is equipped with a semi-automatic autopilot mode, the press service explained. It can be remotely controlled to move it to the right place – for example, to a parking lot or to a scooter service point for battery replacement.
It also recognizes obstacles using a wide-angle camera and artificial intelligence. So, he sees people, vehicles and road markings and can independently respond to them to prevent an emergency. Before an obstacle, the scooter brakes itself.
“The technology we are testing is still in its early stages, but it will help prevent unsafe driving in the future.“, the company noted.
So far, the technology is being tested on five scooters until the end of the summer season. If the test is successful, the service will consider launching scooters with similar functionality for a wide audience, Yurent stressed.
