The flagship Xiaomi 12 will be similar to the Xiaomi Civi. It will get the same curved screen with a minimal bottom bezel

Yesterday Xiaomi officially presented the mid-budget smartphone Civi, which features a minimal bottom bezel of the screen – its thickness is only 2.55 mm. According to a Chinese source, this decision will be carried over to the flagship Xiaomi 12.

This is what Xiaomi Civi looks like. And this is how the Xiaomi 12 will look

The Civi screen is curved on both sides, and the Xiaomi 12 screen will be exactly the same: the company will refuse the version of the screen curved on all four sides, as in the current Mi 11. The radius of curvature of the Xiaomi 12 screen will be small, so it will be convenient to use. Obviously, the front camera will be solved in the same way as in the Civi – that is, it will remain embedded in the center. In general, outwardly, the Xiaomi 12 will practically repeat the Civi when it comes to the front panel. At the same time, the screen itself will be new – based on the latest generation E5 Super AMOLED panel from Samsung. This display is characterized by lower power consumption compared to the E3 in Mi 11, and at the same time, the frame rate in it is adjustable over a wide range – from 1 to 120 Hz in 1 Hz steps.

As for the performance of the rear panel of the Xiaomi 12, it will still have a camera of three sensors (according to rumors, the resolution of each will be 50 megapixels), but whether the second screen will remain in the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is still a question. According to the latest data, Xiaomi 12 will be released early next year.

Blue Origin and Sierra Space have announced plans to build the Orbital Reef commercial space station in low Earth orbit. According to the partners, “the station will usher in a new chapter in human space exploration and exploration, contributing to the development of a vibrant ecosystem and business model for the future.” The Orbital Reef Program has been supported by space industry leaders including Boeing, Redwire Space, Genesis Engineering Solutions and Arizona State University.

As conceived by the creators of the station, it will open up many new markets in space, giving customers the opportunity to “get their own address in orbit.” The partners expect to offer research, industrial and commercial customers a competitively priced one-stop-shop service, including space transportation and logistics, space placement, equipment placement and operation, including crew accommodation on board the station.

Orbital Reef is supposed to be used as a “mixed-use business park” in space. The shared infrastructure will effectively support the private needs of various tenants and visitors. The delivery and return of people and cargo will be entrusted to the reusable space transport. Coupled with advanced automation and logistics, it will minimize cost and complexity for both traditional space operators and new entrants. The open system architecture will allow any customer or country to connect to the project and will provide the ability to scale to meet demand by adding new modules.

The station is expected to start operating in the second half of this decade.
