On Tuesday, October 13th, Xiaomi released its new long-named Mi True Wireless Earphones Air 2 Pro. These are the first fully wireless active noise canceling headphones in the range of the Chinese company.
The new Xiaomi earbuds have 12mm speakers and active noise canceling (up to 35dB), which can be activated with one click. They support several modes of operation, including the so-called transparency mode, which allows you to hear what is happening around you without removing the headphones from your ears. Three microphones are provided to remove background noise during phone calls. And a built-in infrared sensor detects when the earbuds are in their ears and pauses music playback if the user pulls out the earbud.
Another feature of Mi True Wireless Earphones Air 2 Pro is support for fast charging via the USB Type-C port and wireless Qi. Just 10 minutes of charging gives the accessory an additional 90 minutes of use. As for the overall autonomy, the built-in battery, according to the manufacturer, provides the headphones with a total of 7 hours of operation when the noise canceling mode is off and up to 5 hours when it is on. The included case for storing and charging the headphones will extend the battery life up to 28 hours.
The earbuds are compatible with iPhones and Android smartphones. Connecting to them is carried out via the wireless Bluetooth 5.0 protocol and should not be difficult.
The manufacturer has taken care of making the headphones as comfortable as possible for all users. That is why they come with replaceable silicone earbuds in four sizes: S, M, L and XL. The earbuds themselves and the case are made of plastic and are offered only in black.
Mi True Wireless Earphones Air 2 Pro are already available for pre-order in China. They can now be purchased there at a discounted price of 649 yuan (about $ 96) instead of the regular price of 699 yuan (about $ 103). In comparison, the AirPods Pro with Active Noise Canceling are $ 249.
