The first one went. The use of the popular gadget Apple AirTag banned on the flights of the popular airline Lufthansa

German carrier Lufthansa has banned its passengers from carrying Apple AirTags on in their luggage.

Lufthansa claims that baggage trackers are categorized as portable electronic devices and are therefore subject to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) dangerous goods regulations. Lufthansa says the data feature must be turned off when flying in checked baggage, as is required for mobile phones, laptops and other electronic devices.

So you can leave the AirTag in your luggage, it just won’t be able to transfer data, making it useless. So far, no other major airline has issued a similar ban, and international aviation authorities have not issued any warnings about AirTags either.

AirTag allows travelers to know exactly where their luggage is. After this information appeared on Twitter, a lot of feedback from users expressing dissatisfaction with Lufthansa’s decision appeared. They want to always know exactly where their luggage is, and the airline forbids them to do so.

After the release of Apple AirTag in the spring of 2021, people often put trackers in their luggage before flights to track the location of suitcases and bags in case they are lost.

According to One Miles at a Time, Lufthansa is the first carrier in the world to restrict the use of the Apple AirTag. This precedent can become an example to follow in other companies.
