The decision to block the Telegram messenger in Brazil has been canceled
According to the Brazilian TV channel O Globo, citing the decision of Judge Alexandre de Moraes, the Federal Supreme Court of Brazil has withdrawn the decision to block the Telegram messenger in the country.
The court decision says that Telegram has fully complied with the court’s orders, so its work in Brazil can be continued. This was preceded by a series of events.
Last week, Brazil’s Supreme Court ruled to restrict access to Telegram due to non-removal of prohibited content. After that, the creator of the messenger, Pavel Durov, explained this by an error with sending work letters. Durov also asked the Brazilian court to postpone the decision for several days in order to give Telegram the opportunity to correct what happened.
Yesterday, the Supreme Court stated that the management of Telegram is obliged to appoint an official representative of Telegram in Brazil within 24 hours and inform the authorities about the measures taken to combat fakes. In addition, it was announced that if the messenger is blocked, a $20,000 fine will be imposed for using a VPN.

The XiaomiUI resource, which tracks the release of firmware for various Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices, shared details about software support for the Xiaomi Pad 5 and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro tablet computers. There are two news here: good and bad.
The good news is that the devices of the line (and there are three of them – Xiaomi Pad 5, Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 5G and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro WiFi) will receive MIUI 15, but the bad news is that this firmware will be based on Android 13, and not Android 14. Thus, the release of MIUI 15 will be the last major software update for these models.
The team of the popular WhatsApp messenger announced upcoming changes for users of older smartphone models. WhatsApp may stop working on their devices in a month.
The updated WhatsApp support page states:
Starting October 24, 2023, only Android OS version 5.0 and higher will be supported.
Thus, by October 24, WhatsApp users should update the OS version on their smartphone, and if Android 5.0 or a newer version is not supported, think about changing the device. After “Day X”, all WhatsApp services will become unavailable on devices.

The current stable version of WhatsApp requires a device running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (2012 OS version) or later. As for the iPhone, so far the support information on the WhatsApp website has not changed – iOS 12 or later is required for operation.

The first to drop out of the race was the Pixel 7 Pro, as having the most power-hungry platform. The device worked for 8 hours 13 minutes. OnePlus 11 was the second to give in, but the gap from the outsider turned out to be very large: the Chinese device worked for 9 hours and 48 minutes. The iPhone 14 Pro Max lasted literally a little longer: 9 hours 59 minutes.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra worked for exactly 10 hours, the Samsung flagship worked 27 minutes longer, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max took first place with a result of 10 hours and 31 minutes.
Of course, all autonomy tests are carried out differently, so the results may differ, although not radically. But we can state that, firstly, Apple’s flagship is better again this year, and secondly, its advantage over some competitors is not particularly significant.
