Today, AMD will introduce the Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards, which may be the first mainstream adapters with PCIe 5.0 support, since the GeForce RTX 40 did not receive support for this interface. However, AMD’s new products will no longer be the first in absolute terms.

The young Chinese company Moore Threads introduced the world’s first graphics card with PCIe 5.0 – MTT S80. The S3000 card was also announced, but it is focused on the data center. Both new items are the successors of the S60 and S2000 models, which debuted in the spring. The novelties are based on the same MUSA architecture. MTT S80 received 4096 computing units and has a performance of 14.4 TFLOPS, which is almost like the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti.

The heart of the novelty is the GPU MUSA-Chunxiao, consisting of 22 billion transistors. With more compute units and architecture changes, the company says the new card delivers 3.4 times the DirectX performance and five times the OpenGL performance of its predecessor.

It is also worth noting that the adapter is equipped with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory at 14 GHz, has three DisplayPort 1.4a ports and one HDMI 2.1.

As for the S3000, it has the same configuration but 32 GB of memory. This model is also available with passive CO. Sales of new products will begin on November 11, but there are no prices yet.

The overpriced GeForce RTX 4080 could drop in price in

The GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 video cards have officially fallen in price today, but only in Europe and by only 5% against the backdrop of a strengthening euro. However, at least the RTX 4080 could drop in price much more in the near future.

The overpriced GeForce RTX 4080 could drop in price in a week or two. At this time, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX is just coming out.

According to various Chinese sources, including those cited by WCCF Tech, the RTX 4080 could drop in price as early as mid-December. And the reason, at first glance, is as simple as possible – the release of the Radeon RX 7900 cards. Recall that even the top-end RX 7900 XTX will cost only $ 1,000 versus $ 1,200 that they ask for the RTX 4080. However, at least one source says that Nvidia will allegedly reduce the price of the card not for a better fight against AMD’s new products, but for our own reasons to improve the price-quality ratio.

Be that as it may, this is still a positive thing for gamers who would like to buy the RTX 4080.

It’s also worth noting that if the RTX 4080’s MSRP goes down, that could mean the RTX 4070 Ti will also come out with a lower price tag than it was previously quoted, which, remember, was $900.

Test results for the Radeon RX 7900 XTX have appeared on the Web, apparently already with a normal driver.

In recent tests, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX struggles with the GeForce RTX 4080 with varying degrees of success

Today we have already seen results in Geekbench’s OpenCL and Vulkan tests, and they were lower than those of the RX 6900 XT. The new results are much higher.

In the Vulkan test, the novelty is gaining almost 180,000 points, and in OpenCL the result is more than 228,000 points.

As you can see, this is much more than the RX 6950 XT. In the Vulkan test, AMD’s new product confidently outperforms the more expensive GeForce RTX 4080, but in the OpenCL test it lags behind the latter, only slightly ahead of the RTX 3090 Ti. In both cases, the RTX 4090 is far ahead.

Of course, Geekbench is far from the best option for testing video cards, but at least now we see that the new AMD flagship is indeed much faster than the old one.
