Tesla’s Chinese rival Model 3 was an almost instant hit. In just a few days, orders for the Xpeng P5 surpassed the 10,000 mark
Xpeng Motors has announced its new Xpeng P5 electric sedan ahead of the Shanghai Auto Show. The novelty has become the third model in the company’s line of electric vehicles (there is also a compact crossover G3 and a large sedan P7) and is positioned as a direct competitor to Tesla Model 3 in China. Pricing has not been announced, sales will only start at the end of the year, but the Xpeng P5 has already become a hit: more than 10,000 pre-orders have been placed in a week. Moreover, in order to issue it, it is enough to have only 100 yuan in your wallet or account – about 15 dollars in equivalent.
With a length of 4808 mm, the Xpeng P5 wheelbase is 2768 mm – the Tesla Model 3 is slightly more spacious inside. The declared mileage for the NEDC cycle is 600 km, the drag coefficient Cx is 0.223.
The car is equipped with the advanced (at least, the developers call it that) XPILOT 3.5 autonomous driving system, which includes two lidars (one on each side), five millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors and 13 high-resolution cameras. Inside the car, there is a digital instrument panel, a 15.6-inch screen in the infotainment system, leather seats, a panoramic roof, etc.

Skoda Afriq sports crossover unveiled

Skoda presented the finished car Skoda Afriq, created at the company’s Academy in Mladá Boleslav. For the first time, we wrote about a sports crossover, which was created by a group of students, in November. Now it has become a reality.
With the name Afriq, the concept car pays homage to the legendary Dakar Rally, and technically it is similar to many other rally cars. The students were actively assisted by the Skoda Motorsport factory team participating in the rally on Skoda Fabia hatchbacks.
Externally and in size, the Skoda Afriq is similar to the Kamiq crossover. The distinctive sides were welded rear doors, enlarged wheel arches and an increase in overall length from 4241 to 4362 mm. The rear wing, ventilation system and almost the entire interior, including the steering wheel, instrument panel, seats, seat belts and intercoms, were transferred from the Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo racing hatchback.
Skoda Afriq received transmission from Skoda Octavia 4×4. We are talking about a 2.0-liter 190-horsepower turbo engine, a seven-speed DSG “robot” and an all-wheel drive system with a clutch on the rear axle. To install the latter, the Czechs had to shorten the driveshaft and literally make the entire exhaust system from scratch.
The gas tank for the Afriq was also taken from the Skoda Octavia 4×4, and for independent suspension, the students completely redid the bottom of the donor Kamiq. The mass of the car was only 1350 kg, and in the back of it fit a portable water generator capable of producing drinking water from moisture in the air.
The car was created in a single copy.

Elon Musk called the month of the appearance of fully unmanned Tesla

The Tesla CEO visited Brazil on Friday. The reason for the trip was a partnership with the local government to launch a program to connect Amazon regions to SpaceX Starlink satellite internet.
Speaking to reporters, Elon Musk said that in a year (in May 2023) Tesla will already have cars with an unmanned driving system that does not require the presence of drivers behind the wheel. It is worth noting that Elon Musk has repeatedly made such statements in the past, but he has always been wrong in his predictions.
He previously claimed that there will be a million Tesla robot taxis on the roads in 2020. This year, Musk changed the goal to 1 million Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta users, which is a big difference.
The Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta version has the features of the autonomous driving system, but they sometimes fail, requiring the driver to be constantly behind the wheel, aware of the situation and ready to take control.
Tesla continues to improve the Full Self-Driving system and collect data to train its neural networks. Tesla hopes that with enough improvements, its FSD system will eventually be secure enough to be used without driver oversight.

“The story is over. The meeting with the Martians has been cancelled. Musk goes to power, ”Dmitry Rogozin commented on the political course of the creators of Tesla

The CEO of the state corporation Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, commented on his Telegram channel on Elon Musk’s latest statements that he is becoming politically active in order to prevent the “awakening virus” (wouk virus) from preventing humanity from reaching Mars.
The story is over. Migration to Mars has been postponed. The sect of Witnesses Ilonov rents tickets at the box office. The meeting with the Martians has been cancelled. Everything is predictable and simple: having earned extra money from the war and failed space miracles, Musk goes to power. Shaking in the White House old rotten Joe Stump. Twitter is worried. The flight attendant trembles. The masks are off, gentlemen!
Dmitry Rogozin
It is worth noting that Dmitry Rogozin back in mid-April, before it became known about the intention of Elon Musk to buy Twitter, criticized him for hypocrisy, saying that in fact he was not going to colonize Mars at all. His main goal is enrichment on Earth and power.
Many do not fully understand what this person is. He is not going to Mars. He is focused on becoming a very, very powerful person in the world.
Dmitry Rogozin
