Tecno introduced Chameleon technology that changes the color of the smartphone
At the international exhibition MWC 2023, which started in Barcelona, Tecno introduced Chameleon Coloring Technology. According to the manufacturer, Chameleon technology will allow you to change the color of the back of the smartphone “at the touch of a button.” According to the description, Chameleon does not imply the presence of an additional display and does not emit light, on the contrary, the material reflects light from its surface. The technology uses a grid of submicron prismatic elements that change direction when an electric field is applied. As a result, the material can refract light at different wavelengths, producing a wide range of iridescent colors.
The position of the prisms can be controlled manually using a special application, which allows you to choose from 1600 different colors. Also, the color can change automatically, depending on the battery status, music playback or incoming notifications. The material can change color in 0.03 seconds and, according to the company’s calculations, must withstand up to 2 million changes. At the same time, Chameleon is quite an energy-efficient technology: 100 changes during the day will require as much energy as watching a 5-minute video. At MWC, the company showed only a concept device using the new technology. About when the real smartphone-chameleon will be released, nothing has been reported yet.

The transition between Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo smartphones has become even easier: now all data is transferred

Today, March 22, the developers of ColorOS, MIUI and OriginOS confirmed that owners of the respective phones will be able to seamlessly switch from one model to another without worrying about their data.
Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo have agreed to expand cooperation. In addition to data such as photos and contacts, data from third-party applications is also transferred.
To do this, you need to update the corresponding software on Oppo smartphones to version 13.3.7 and higher, Xiaomi to version 4.0.0 and higher, Vivo to version 6.2.5.1 and higher. Previously, transferring data between these smartphones had to be done using third-party software. This method was often slow, consumed traffic and reduced information security.
Now three brands have built-in mutual transmission functions in mobile phones, which is safer and more convenient. With the creation of the Mutual Transmission Alliance, Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo phones exchange information with one touch, and when changing phones, there is no need to worry about correspondence and other data.
Mutual Transmission Alliance was founded back in 2019.
