SteelSeries introduced two mouse models – Prime Mini and Prime Mini Wireless, positioning them as a weapon for e-sportsmen. According to the manufacturer, “the shape of the mouse, its feel and lightning-fast reaction time are critical for quick attacks, hand-to-hand combat and victories.” Prestige OM technology has found application in new mice. Under this name lies the magneto-optical switches previously tested in Prime mice, from which the new mice differ in size and weight. More specifically, the Prime Mini is 12% lighter and the Prime Mini Wireless is 9% manufacturer over the base model.
The advantages of the Prestige OM switches are five times longer “than the competition” and “lightning-fast response time.” Unlike mechanical switches, magneto-optical switches do not wear out during operation, that is, their characteristics remain unchanged.
The Prime Mini mouse weighs 61 g. It uses the TrueMove Pro sensor. The Prime Mini Wireless mouse weighs 73g, but it is equipped with a wireless interface. This mouse can last over 100 hours without recharging. It uses a TrueMove Air sensor.
The Prime Mini is $ 60, the Prime Mini Wireless is $ 130.
Ryzen 7000 can be made much colder, but it’s risky. Processor needs to be scalped
The Ryzen 7000 processors proved to be very productive, but also very hot. Even with liquid cooling systems, temperatures cannot be called low. But there is a way out, even if it is not suitable for everyone.
The well-known overclocker Der8auer decided to check how much the situation would improve if the cover was removed from the Ryzen 9 7900X. It turned out that this is a very effective way.
When using liquid CO and overclocking to 5.5 GHz on all cores, the temperature was only 70 degrees versus 90 degrees for a conventional CPU with less overclocking. Unfortunately, there are no results without overclocking, but the temperatures will obviously be even lower, that is, already quite within the usual values for most modern processors.
Der8auer used a prototype tool to remove the cover, but a production model should be available later. Of course, this solution is not suitable for everyone, because, firstly, it is risky, and secondly, it deprives the owner of the processor warranty. However, this is still an effective option and it must be borne in mind.
If the 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X turned out to be incredibly powerful, then how will the 64-core Threadripper be? First Ryzen Threadripper 7000 spotted online
Ryzen Threadripper 7000 processors have been spotted online for the first time. An unknown 64-core model has found its way into the [email protected] database, and so far we only know about the number of cores and architecture of Zen 4.
The software itself indicates 128 in the “number of processors” column, but in fact it is about the number of threads.
Ryzen Threadripper has always been as close as possible to Epyc server CPUs and previously always matched them in terms of the maximum number of cores. However, we know that 96-core Epyc Genoa CPUs are waiting for us this year, but it’s not a fact that the older Ryzen Threadripper 7000 will also receive 96 cores.
That being said, even 64-core Zen 4 should offer phenomenal performance for the class, given what the 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X is capable of.
Intel decided to release Core processors without large cores at all. Core i3-N300 and Core i3-N305 lit up on the Web
Despite the fact that Intel has already introduced older Raptor Lake desktop CPUs, it is only getting ready to release new Alder Lake processors. We are talking about ultra-power efficient Alder Lake-N CPUs, and today we have a first look at a couple of such models.
They are called Core i3-N300 and Core i3-N305. There is a version that these are the older Alder Lake-N, and the rest will be presented under the new Processor brand, which will replace the Pentium and Celeron.
The most important feature of the new products is that they have eight cores, but these are all small cores. They, recall, do not support Hyper-Threading. Core i3-N305 frequencies are 1.8-3.8 GHz. And such a CPU in Geekbench is gaining 1025 and 4420 points in single-threaded and multi-threaded modes, respectively. For comparison, the high-performance Core i7-8750H gains about the same, and now we are talking only about small cores. Of course, Geekbench doesn’t show real-world performance in apps, but the results so far are encouraging.
Thus, apparently, the new CPUs will be sufficiently productive for their segment, despite the fact that these will be the weakest processors of the Core family within their generation.
