Steam has set a record for the number of players online – over 25 million

Portal PCGamesN, referring to the specialized resource SteamDB, writes that today the digital distribution service Steam has set a historic record for the number of simultaneous players. Over 25 million gamers were online at once. The peak value is 25,415,080 people.
The most popular game was Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. It simultaneously contained more than a million virtual fighters. The top 5 online games are as follows:
- Team shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – 1,079,804 gamers;
- Multiplayer Dota 2 – 694,687 players;
- PlayerUnknown’s Battleground Battle Royale – 426,721 at its peak
- Role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 – 225,555 simultaneously playing;
- Action adventure game in the open world of Grand Theft Auto V – 185,083 players.
Curiously, there are three multi-user projects and two single-user projects in the top 5.
