Steam grants refunds for Battlefield 2042 even outside the rules

Unlike console stores, Steam is very flexible and responsive with requests for returns and refunds for games purchased on the platform. Still, however, the store still has its money-back rules, which is why the account of a Reddit user who got a refund for battlefield 2042 even without meeting these criteria.

The post comes from Roboserg, who shows that he asked for a refund for the first time and was denied, receiving an auto-response from Steam. In the response, Valve’s platform reiterates that its returns policy requires that the game has been played less than two hours and that the order is placed within 14 days of its purchase.

The user, however, insisted, explaining that he played more than two hours because that was the time he spent trying to get the game to work. Eventually your order was reviewed by a person who chose to offer you a refund.

The situation does not seem to be unique to battlefield 2042 and apparently it could happen for any game buggy enough and with the user insisting enough, until being “heard” by a person instead of a robot.

But the case for EA’s game draws attention because it’s a huge recent release that has disappointed many of its players. Perhaps Roboserg’s account will open the door to more insistent requests for a refund on Valve’s platform.

Streaming games only MSIs new compact PC looks like

Known for its outlandish design gaming PCs, MSI has released its latest creation, the MSI MAG Trident S 5M. And this model strongly resembles the Xbox One S console. For example, the new PC can be installed horizontally or vertically, its layout as a whole repeats the design of the gaming system from Microsoft. This applies to the placement of ports, cooling systems and the like.

However, the similarities end in appearance (except for the letter S in the title). MAG Trident S 5M lacks a discrete graphics card, so you can call it gaming only with a stretch. It uses a Ryzen 5000 processor – you can choose from Ryzen 7, 5 and 3 options with integrated Radeon graphics.

The novelty supports up to 64 GB of DDR4 RAM. The disk subsystem is represented by two M.2 slots for Gen 3 or 4 SSDs plus space for a hard drive. And all this is housed in a case with a volume of just over two liters. At the same time, we note that to increase the amount of RAM or replace drives, the case can be easily opened.

Among other features, we note three video outputs (one each HDMI 2.0, DP 1.4 and VGA), as well as a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C 15 W port on the front panel for fast charging smartphones or tablets.

MSI is positioning its PC as a gaming console for streaming games that can be installed in the living room. Declared support for Steam Remote, MSI App player and Xbox Game Pass. The OS is Windows 11.

Note that for the first time the novelty was shown at the beginning of this year at CES 2022.

Some classic games on the PlayStation 5 will not work

Yesterday we got our first look at the classic PlayStation game available as part of the new PS Plus subscription for PlayStation 5 owners. Today, new details about such games have appeared.

Some classic games on the PlayStation 5 will not work as well as on the original console. All because of the PAL standard

In particular, it turned out that a number of games work with a frame rate of only 50 Hz and according to the PAL standard. For example, this applies to Ape Escape. At the same time, the original game on the PlayStation worked according to the NTSC standard, which makes the gameplay feel smoother.

We know for sure that not all classic PS Plus games will work on PAL. For example, Siphon Filter and Abe’s Odyssey work according to the NTSC standard. However, unfortunately, all Sony Japan Studio games will be the same as Ape Escape.

A complete list of all the games available on PS Plus has also appeared, but for now only for the Asian region. You can get acquainted with them at this link, but in other regions the list may be slightly different.

Now the SSD in PlayStation 5 seems to be slow

It’s been literally a year and a half since the launch of the PlayStation 5, which, among other things, impressed with its ultra-fast SSD. But a lot has changed in the market in a year and a half.

Now the SSD in PlayStation 5 seems to be slow. Apacer showed drives with speeds up to 13,000 MB / s

Apacer showcases next-generation PCIe 5.0 SSDs with read/write speeds of 13,000 and 12,000 MB/s respectively!

Recall that the Sony console has an SSD with a speed of about 7000 MB / s, that is, the new Apacer will be almost twice as fast.

The Apacer AS2280F5 drive does not stand out in any way. It has a heat sink, but overall it’s just an SSD. There is also the Zadak TWSG5 model, which is distinguished by the addition of graphene and aluminum to the cooling system.

There are no other details yet. In particular, the company does not name the controller used, but it could be the Phison E20.
