Spyro becomes main character in Half-Life mod; see the video

Published

on

Recently, a new modification of half-life shows what a version of the game with ray tracing technology would look like. Despite being a 1998 classic, fans of the franchise are still active: they created another mod and, this time, to remove the main character Gordan Freeman and put the little dragon Spyro in place.

After many years of waiting half life 3, fans began to create their own versions. A team of developers is producing a mod named Half Life: Year of the Dragon, with Spyro in place of the protagonist of the franchise created by Valve.

The Magic Nipples team has been developing the title for over three years and it won’t just be a demo version. They claim that a full mod will be available by the year 2024.

demo version coming soon

To introduce fans of both sagas, Magic Nipples has released a trailer with the latest development updates. They even revealed that a demo version will be available until January 21, 2022.

Unlike the original Gordam Freeman story, Half Life: Year of the Dragon will not follow a linear story. In reality, it will be more like the adventures of the franchise. Spyro, in which the baby dragon chooses specific stages in a central universe — the powers and other moves of the Spyro are the same as those available in the original dragon games.

Although in “cloud” on Switch, Dying Light 2 delayed at Nintendo

Published

on

Techland announced that Dying Light 2 won’t happen on Switch at the same time as the other versions of the game. However, the version offered on the Nintendo console will not be practicable other than on the cloud, making this postponement somewhat curious.

The good technical performance of the first part on Switch could give hope for a sequel brought with so much effort. However, it was quickly confirmed that if the Switch was going to receive Dying Light 2 Star Human, it would only be a question of a version playable in “cloud”, or on the cloud.

YouTube credit.

The good news with these kinds of announcements is that no concessions are made to allow Switch audiences to enjoy the same experience as everyone else. The bad news is that it requires these players to have a stable and quality connection to keep the game fluid, not to mention queues to observe.

Dying Light 2 delayed on Switch: the release will take place within six months

At this point, suffice to say that Switch players no longer expect much from Dying Light 2, whose very output will take the form of a small miracle. On Wednesday, its developer Techland, however, managed to create disappointment in a lack of enthusiasm. Thus, while Dying Light 2 to be launched on Friday, February 4, 2022 on PC, Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X / S, the title will miss the start at Nintendo.

“Techland aims to deliver the game to the Nintendo Switch family within six months of the original date”.

The explanations for this postponement are very vaguely, if not at all, given by Techland, which is thus content to say that this decision has been taken “in order to provide fans with the gaming experience at the level that they deserve and that Techland wants to provide”.

This maximum six months delay would have been completely understandable if Techland had sweated liters of sweat to get Dying Light 2 in the nails of the Switch. But making potential buyers of “streaming” games wait does not encourage leniency. We add that if Dying Light 2 following the sad example of control and Hitman, the eShop sheet should make no mention of the price of the access pass, necessary to play the game beyond the free trial period.

Activision Blizzard does not plan to remove existing games from Sony

Published

on

After it was acquired by Microsoft for a properly outrageous amount to be repeated too often, Activision Blizzard has ensured that all of its games currently present at sony will not be subject to withdrawals. Because an aftershock should not be added to an already extraordinary first earthquake.

It’s easy to lose a sense of reality when so much money is involved. Two days ago was announced the takeover of Activision-Blizzard-King by Microsoft. For the amount committed, close to 70 billion dollars, it seemed almost certain that the other green giant wanted to lock in a number of licenses for its own flowerbeds.

Activision

By June 2023, franchises such as Call of Duty, Warcraft, Overwatch, Guitar Hero and a no less prestigious Crash Bandicoot will effectively become Xbox brands. Ironic when you remember that the crazy marsupial had made the heyday of the first PlayStation of the name, where it remained exclusive there.

Takeover of Activision-Blizzard-King by Microsoft: Sony hopes to maintain multiplatform

What about the aforementioned licenses, episodes of which are currently marketed on platforms other than Microsoft? Activision has commented on the issue in an employee FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. In particular, it was a question of respecting the agreements previously made with Sony, Google and Apple:

“We will honor all existing commitments after the closing of the transaction. Similar to Microsoft’s acquisition of Minecraft, we have no intention of removing any content from the platforms where it exists today.”

Words that tend to reassure the partners of Activision and in particular Sony, which had declared following the takeover that it was waiting for the current contractual agreements not to be shattered. And that Activision’s currently multi-platform games remain so. And if it is likely that one or more of these brands will end up being playable only on Xbox, Microsoft would have the idea to produce Activision Blizzard titles for PlayStation. The head of the Xbox division even said on this subject:

“We have no intention of driving communities away from this platform”.

VGC nevertheless recalls that Phil Spencer had made a similar speech after the takeover of Bethesda, so that Microsoft finally confirmed that the studio’s next titles would be released on Xbox, PC and nowhere else.
