SpaceX’s giant Starship rocket will finally go into space
SpaceX is approaching the next major milestone in Starship rocket development as the company works to meet environmental impact requirements set out this week by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Elon Musk said on Tuesday that the company will have a prototype Starship rocket “ready to fly” by July, and SpaceX will look to launch the spacecraft into orbit for the first time.
SpaceX had hoped to test Starship orbital flight as early as last summer, but development delays and regulatory approvals have steadily pushed back that schedule. The FAA made a major environmental decision on Monday, ending a long-awaited evaluation of the program. SpaceX needs to complete more than 75 agency amendments before applying for a launch license required for flight testing.
Musk said in a series of tweets that he spent time at the SpaceX facility in Boca Chica, Texas on Monday night “analysing progress.” He added that the company “will have a second Starship prototype ready to fly in August” and plans to fly “on a monthly basis.”
The company is developing its reusable Starship rocket with the goal of delivering cargo and people beyond Earth. The rocket and its Super Heavy booster are powered by Raptor engines. SpaceX has completed several high-altitude flight tests of Starship prototypes but has yet to reach space.

Apple will not be greedy and will add support for Qi2 wireless charging for iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 smartphones

Apple, in its new iOS update, has added support for the Qi2 wireless charging standard to older iPhone models.
Qi2 support was found in iOS 17.2, which is now available as a candidate version. It states that Qi2 will be supported by smartphones of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 lines. Currently, only the latest iPhone 15 has support for the standard.
Let us remember that Qi2 is a new universal standard for wireless charging, which Apple also helped develop.

A truly gigantic vapor chamber and a truly very bright screen. OnePlus 12 was presented yesterday, and today it was dismantled

OnePlus 12 was presented only yesterday, and now we can look at a video with its disassembly. At the same time, evaluate the actual dimensions of the evaporation chamber, which the company actively advertised.
As you can see, the evaporation chamber is indeed very large and occupies most of the area of the inner plate of the frame. Considering the hot nature of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, such a decision will definitely not be superfluous.
Also worth noting is the screen brightness measurement. Let us remind you that OnePlus itself talks about a record 4500 cd/sq.m, but we know that Chinese manufacturers love this indicator and indicate values that in reality cannot be obtained even when measured. However, in the case of OnePlus 12, at a minimum we are talking about 1700 cd/sq.m just in bright light and completely filling the screen with white. For comparison, for the Redmi K70 Pro it is 1000 cd/sq.m with a declared peak of 4000 cd/sq.m.

But these new AMD processors already look much more interesting. AMD talked a little about Ryzen generation Strix Point

The Ryzen 8000U/H/HS processors may disappoint with the lack of any significant improvements, but these are not all the new products that AMD is preparing for the 2024 model year. The Strix Point line will be much more interesting.
According to AMD’s slides, this line will also be released next year. It is not yet clear under what name, but based on the principle of naming the company’s processors, it should be Ryzen 8050, where the eight will indicate 2024, and the five will represent the Zen 5 architecture.
Yes, these will be mobile processors based on the new Zen 5 architecture, which should already make them much faster than current APUs. In addition, the iGPU of such processors will be built on the RDNA 3+ (or RDNA 3.5) architecture, but it is not yet clear what improvements it will bring.
If the Ryzen 8000U/H/HS has increased performance by 60% relative to the Ryzen 7000U/H/HS, then the Strix Point will be three times faster.
According to early leaks, Strix Point, unlike the Ryzen 7040 and Ryzen 8040, will have up to 12 processor cores, and the Strix Halo line will offer up to 16 cores, but these will be APUs of a completely different level. Also, Strix Point processors were previously credited with iGPUs with 1024 stream processors versus 768 for the Radeon 780M. Strix Halo will supposedly have 2560 stream processors, which is more than a number of Radeon desktop video cards.
