South Korean intelligence: North Korean hackers have stolen $1.2 billion since 2017
Specialists from the National Intelligence Service of South Korea conducted a large-scale study. As a result of the work, a report was prepared, which says that over the past 5 years, hackers from North Korea have stolen digital assets worth $1.2 billion.
The National Intelligence Service said more than half of the stolen assets, or about $626 million, were stolen in 2022 alone, according to the Associated Press. Of the total stolen this year, more than $78 million went to South Korea. The agency expects that in 2023, North Korea will step up its cyberattacks on South Korea and focus on stealing advanced technologies related to nuclear plants, chips, and the defense industry.
“Marking the third year of its five-year economic development plan in 2023, North Korea is expected to seek to steal key technologies as well as gather diplomatic and security intelligence to further its political goals,” the National Intelligence Agency said. service.
North Korea has focused on cybercrime since UN economic sanctions were stepped up in 2017. However, according to South Korea’s main intelligence agency, this was in response to its nuclear and missile tests. In addition, the ability of North Korean hackers to steal digital assets is considered one of the most effective in the world.
Experts suggest that North Korea finances and oversees a division of high-class hackers. The total number of such specialists is estimated at approximately 7,000 people. One of the well-known cyber organizations associated with the DPRK is the Lazarus Group.
As of November this year, North Korea has conducted 34 weapons tests using 88 ballistic and cruise missiles. According to South Korean analysts, missile tests are funded in large part by such hacking activities. In November 2022, the country also tested two intercontinental ballistic missiles that experts say could hit anywhere in the US.

The capabilities of all the cameras of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra were shown in a spectacular selection. At 30x zoom, the quality remains very high

Verified online whistleblower Ice Universe posted new photos on Twitter showing the optical and digital zoom capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra flagship smartphone.
The pictures were taken with an ultra-wide-angle camera (0.6x), a main module (1x), as well as two telephoto lenses with 3x, 10x, 30x and 100x zoom.
Galaxy S23 Ultra, 0.6/1/3/10/30/100x. 30x zoom is beyond me. This is unscientific. Haha.

It can be stated that at 30x zoom, the quality of the images remains quite high for publication in social networks without visible blurs and loss of detail.
In addition, two photographs are presented, the second being made by cropping the original image.
Ice Universe was the first to accurately talk about the new trend for smartphones with waterfall screens, about the notch in the iPhone X, about the new design of the iPhone 14 with a Dynamic Island cutout, and about different 200-megapixel image sensors.

Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones may differ in speed: versions with 128 and 256 GB are equipped with different memory

As it became known, the versions of the Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphone equipped with 128 and 256 GB of flash memory differ in the type of this very memory.
The 128GB version uses slower UFS 3.1 memory. The 256GB version of the Galaxy S23 uses the new UFS 4.0 memory. In both cases, new LPDDR5X RAM is installed.
Allegedly, the base version may be slower in various scenarios than the 256GB version of the Galaxy S23. UFS 3.1 has a sequential read speed of 2100 Mbps and a sequential write speed of 1200 Mbps, while UFS 4.0 has a sequential read speed of 4200 Mbps and a sequential write speed of 2800 Mbps.
There is evidence that Samsung does not produce 128 GB UFS 4.0 memory chips. Only Kioxia makes 128GB UFS 4.0 memory, but even those don’t reach the required speeds. Therefore, Samsung decided to use UFS 3.1 flash memory for the lower version.
Samsung is offering a free upgrade for those who pre-order the Galaxy S23 series in many countries. For example, if you order the 128 GB version, you can get the 256 GB version.
