Source: First Details on iPhone 13 Line

Analyst Ross Young has shared the first details on the iPhone 13 lineup due to hit store shelves in 2021.

According to Young, the 13th iPhone lineup will not receive much conceptual differences from the iPhone 12. Five models are expected in total: iPhone 13 Pro Max with 6.67-inch screen, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 with 6.06-inch screen, iPhone 13 5.42-inch and third-generation iPhone SE 6.06-inch LCD.

One of the main innovations in the 2021 iPhone will be support for variable refresh rates up to 120Hz – the phones will receive ProMotion displays from BOE Technology, Samsung and LG. Earlier, well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that support for 120 Hz in the iPhone will not appear until 2021.

The younger iPhone 13 will inherit the camera from the iPhone 12 Pro Max, while the main sensors on all models will be significantly improved. According to Young, both iPhone 13 Pro models will be equipped with a LiDAR sensor. All iPhones 13 will support 5G sub-6GHz, while the Pro series will offer the faster mmWave standard.

The third generation iPhone SE should not be expected until 2022, the analyst said. It will be a phone with Touch ID, 5G sub-6GHz and a similar set of cameras to the iPhone 11. The fingerprint scanner will likely be built into the Power button, similar to the latest generation iPad Air.

Earlier it was reported that Apple may release an affordable iPhone 12 4G in early 2021. The main iPhone 12 line is expected to launch in October.
