A year ago, Sony introduced its Nextorage brand for SSD drives for the PlayStation 5 console. However, it seems that they are preparing not only drives for consoles. At the Tokyo Game Show, the company showed off new 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB PC SSDs with very high speeds and PCIe 5.0 x4 support.

The Sony Nextorage M2-2280 SSD provides linear read speeds up to 9500MB/s and write speeds up to 8500MB/s. Random access data is not yet given. At the same time, the novelty is equipped with a large heatsink, which indicates a strong heating of the controller and memory chips. It goes without saying that such a drive will not fit into the PS5.

It is not yet reported when and at what price these drives will enter the market. However, PCIe 5.0 x4 support has just appeared in the latest motherboards, so it may be a long time before mass adoption.

At the same time, SSDs with PCIe 5.0 in the first generation are not as fast as manufacturers have shown. It all comes down to memory speed.

The Nvidia H100 accelerator in the modification with the PCIe interface can have 120 GB of memory.

Nvidia has created a

So far, Nvidia has not announced such a version, and it is not certain that there will be at least some kind of announcement, since in general the H100 model debuted back in March. But the solution hits the market only now and, apparently, by this time the company has prepared a new version.

Nvidia has created a

Initially, we recall that the H100 was presented in versions with PCIe and SMX with a different number of CUDA cores, but with the same amount of HBM2e memory of 80 GB. The new version will differ from the originally announced one only in memory, that is, the novelty has the same 16,896 CUDA cores. True, since this is HBM memory, an increase in volume also leads to an increase in throughput: from 2 to 3 TB / s. The SMX version has a throughput of 3.35 TB/s due to interface features.

The Nvidia H100 is the first Hopper generation solution. This is a line of accelerators specially designed for computing, and there are no gaming analogues for such cards.

The Ryzen 9 7950X processor continues to impress with advances even before it hits the market.

Ryzen 9 7950X at 6.5 GHz consumes as much as a non-overclocked Core i9-12900K

This time the processor showed how energy efficient it can be even with extreme overclocking. So, the Sampson overclocker managed to overclock the CPU to 6.5 GHz for all cores using liquid nitrogen.

And at such a high frequency, the processor consumed only 270 watts. For comparison, the Core i9-12900K requires about the same amount without any overclocking, just under maximum load. The Core i9-13900K, when overclocked to 6.2-6.3 GHz, requires about 400 watts.

With such overclocking, the new AMD scores more than 48,200 points in Cinebench R23, and in Cinebench R20 the result reaches 18,605 points. There is also a result from another source with overclocking to 6.7 GHz and 50,395 points in Cinebench R23.

Recall that the Ryzen 9 7950X will be on sale on September 27th. Intel on the same day will introduce its Raptor Lake processors, but they will not go on sale until October.

It looks like we finally have the exact launch dates for the older Intel Arc graphics cards.

Intel is finally ready to release its top-end Arc graphics cards. Reviews due October 5th

There are reportedly at least two dates for the Arc A770. First, unpackings of the adapter will be published on September 30, and then on October 5, thematic resources will be able to publish reviews as well.

Earlier, Intel itself said that the Arc A750 will be released along with the A770, so, apparently, the indicated dates are also valid for the younger card. But there is no data about Arc A580.

In addition, it is expected that on September 27, the day of the announcement of the Raptor Lake processors, Intel can share new details about the graphics cards. In particular, to finally name the prices, which she promised to make very competitive.

Recall that the top Arc A770 is reportedly capable of competing with the GeForce RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti.
