Sony “overclocked” the PlayStation 5 – the console produces up to 60 fps in 4K where previously it was only 30 fps. All thanks to VRR support

The Sony PlayStation 5 console has finally received variable refresh rate (VRR) support. And although the task of this technology is primarily to ensure the smoothness of the picture, in this case, as it turned out, gamers will also receive an impressive performance boost in a number of games.

Sony

For example, in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, performance rises to 96fps in RT Performance Mode (ray tracing and 1440p dynamic resolution), and in Fidelity Mode 4K, the frequency rises from the previously blocked 30fps to 50-59k / s, that is, simply twice.

The game Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart offers incredible 110 fps for a console, and this is also with ray tracing (RT Performance Mode). In Fidelity Mode 4K, the indicator also approaches the coveted 60 fps.

Resident Evil Village doesn’t get any boost, still delivering the same 60fps, but the reviewer does note a reduction in input lag. In general, not all games get a performance boost yet, but in any case, this will please PS5 owners. Especially considering that the growth is sometimes huge.

It is worth remembering that the PS5 has an HDMI 2.1 bandwidth for some reason limited to 32 Gb / s, which is why the console displays a picture with 4: 2: 2 subsampling on the screen.

Why GTA VI with such success of GTA V The

Against the backdrop of active mergers and acquisitions in the gaming market, the corresponding question was asked by Take Two Interactive, which is primarily known as the owner of Rockstar and, accordingly, the GTA franchise.

Why GTA VI with such success of GTA V? The game has sold over 165 million copies.

Judging by the answer, now the company is not considering the possibility of selling itself to anyone.

We are a public company and we are here for the shareholders. However, our track record of creating value as an independent business is amazing, especially if we exclude the last three months. We think there are many great times ahead for us and we enjoy being an independent company.

One of the main reasons Take Two Interactive is unlikely to want to sell its assets to anyone is the success of GTA V. The company said that it sold another 5 million copies of the game in the last quarter, so now the total circulation is an incredible 165 million copies.

Speaking about the finances of Take Two Interactive, we can note the report on the results of the 2022 financial year, which ended on March 31 for the company. Revenue was $3.5 billion, up 4%. Net profit decreased from 589 to 418 million dollars.

A new era in the Windows mobile game console market. GPD has already received the Ryzen 7 6800U APU for the Win Max 2 console

GPD Win Max 2 was introduced back in March, but with a Core i7-1280P processor, but its graphics subsystem is no match for the iGPU in the Ryzen 7 6800U.

As a result, before the end of the year, at least two more portable set-top boxes with Windows that can handle modern games should appear on the market. True, apparently, in both cases we are talking about a Full HD screen, which creates an additional load on the GPU. For the same Steam Deck, the resolution is HD.
