Sony doesn’t want PlayStation consoles to turn into bricks. The company is already working on a problem related to the CMOS battery.
The issue with CMOS batteries on PlayStation consoles made its way directly to Sony. Recall that the previous generation of consoles with a dead or missing battery loses almost all their functions, and in a new one in such a situation the user will lose the opportunity to play games without discs, and not everything is smooth with discs.
Thanks to the coverage of this issue, which is especially relevant for the PlayStation 4 due to its age, the information reached Sony. The company has already contacted some users, notifying them that it is studying the situation. Also, some sources claim that Sony’s PR team wants to deal with the matter as soon as possible. Probably, the problem will be solved by one of the subsequent software updates.

Streaming Only – MSI’s New Compact PC Looks Like Xbox One S

Known for its outlandish design gaming PCs, MSI has released its latest creation, the MSI MAG Trident S 5M. And this model strongly resembles the Xbox One S console. For example, the new PC can be installed horizontally or vertically, its layout as a whole repeats the design of the gaming system from Microsoft. This applies to the placement of ports, cooling systems and the like.
However, the similarities end in appearance (except for the letter S in the title). MAG Trident S 5M is devoid of a discrete graphics card, so you can call it gaming only with a stretch. It uses a Ryzen 5000 processor – you can choose from Ryzen 7, 5 and 3 options with integrated Radeon graphics.
The novelty supports up to 64 GB of DDR4 RAM. The disk subsystem is represented by two M.2 slots for Gen 3 or 4 SSDs plus space for a hard drive. And all this is housed in a case with a volume of just over two liters. At the same time, we note that to increase the amount of RAM or replace drives, the case can be easily opened.
Among other features, we note three video outputs (one each HDMI 2.0, DP 1.4 and VGA), as well as a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C 15 W port on the front panel for fast charging smartphones or tablets.
MSI is positioning its PC as a gaming console for streaming games that can be installed in the living room. Declared support for Steam Remote, MSI App player and Xbox Game Pass. The OS is Windows 11.
Note that for the first time the novelty was shown at the beginning of this year at CES 2022.

Sony will not let you enjoy the old games to the fullest. PS3 projects within PS Plus will be released without add-ons

As part of the updated subscription service Sony PS Plus will be available, including projects for PS3. But due to the very specific architecture of the processor of this console, the games will be available in the cloud service.
And now it became known that such games, unfortunately, will not support add-ons. DLC may someday be added, but at first you definitely shouldn’t expect them.
For example, Asura’s Wrath, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, Crash Commando, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and a number of other games received various kinds of add-ons at one time, for some projects there were a lot of such DLCs. But within the framework of PS Plus, it will not be possible to try them out. The source also publishes a list of PS3 games, but we published them a week ago, when Sony itself did this.
As a reminder, today we also learned that some classic games will work even worse on the new consoles than on the original PlayStation.

Some classic games on the PlayStation 5 will not work as well as on the original console. All because of the PAL standard

Yesterday we got our first look at the classic PlayStation game available as part of the new PS Plus subscription for PlayStation 5 owners. Today, new details about such games have appeared.
In particular, it turned out that a number of games work with a frame rate of only 50 Hz and according to the PAL standard. For example, this applies to Ape Escape. At the same time, the original game on the PlayStation worked according to the NTSC standard, which makes the gameplay feel smoother.
We know for sure that not all classic PS Plus games will work on PAL. For example, Siphon Filter and Abe’s Odyssey work according to the NTSC standard. However, unfortunately, all Sony Japan Studio games will be the same as Ape Escape.
A complete list of all the games available on PS Plus has also appeared, but for now only for the Asian region. You can get acquainted with them at this link, but in other regions the list may be slightly different.
