The Tensor G2 single-chip system, which underlies the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro smartphones, as it turned out, is not produced at all according to the 4 nm process technology, but uses 5 nm standards, like the first generation Tensor.

We specifically built Tensor G2 for real use cases. Our final 5nm architecture helped us achieve this goal while improving performance and power efficiency. This approach also allowed us to add new capabilities, taking a step forward in machine learning with our next generation TPU with G2.

Thus, Tensor G2 did not migrate to the newer Samsung 4nm LPE process technology. However, we do not yet know if the 5nm process technology used for the Tensor G2 is exactly the same 5nm process technology used to manufacture the first generation Tensor. The bottom line is that with the same figure, technical processes can differ significantly. Google mentions energy efficiency improvements, so you can hope that the process has been updated.
