SoC Exynos 2200 is much inferior in performance to last year’s Apple A14 Bionic and is not far from Exynos 2100

As we previously reported, the Exynos 2200 SoC test results have appeared in the popular Geekbench 5 benchmark database. These results indicate that the upcoming platform may disappoint those looking forward to significant performance improvements over the Exynos 2100.

Galaxy S21 Ultra

The source published comparative test results of Exynos 2100, Exynos 2200 and Apple A14 Bionic, which directly indicate that the yet unannounced platform lost in performance to last year’s Apple A14 Bionic and is not far from the Exynos 2100.

Of course, there is an option that this is an engineering sample of Exynos 2200, and by the release of the final version of the platform, its performance will be improved. But the performance gain is unlikely to be very large. And do not forget that the iPhone 13 based on the Apple A15 Bionic will be presented tomorrow, and the first smartphones based on the Snapdragon 898 will be released by the end of the year.

The Exynos 2200 is rumored to include a 2.59GHz ARM Cortex-X2 super-core, three high-performance 2.5GHz Cortex-A710 cores, and four energy efficient ones running at 1.73GHz. The GPU, codenamed AMD Voyager, will provide significant performance gains and can rival the Apple A15 Bionic GPU.

The Exynos 2200 is set to debut in the Samsung Galaxy S22 line of smartphones.

In the near future, thousands of Tesla owners will be able to test the FSD autopilot

Published

on

From next week, Tesla plans to give access to the FSD (Full Self-Driving) autopilot function to approximately 1,000 people a week. At the moment, only about 2,000 drivers can use FSD in general.

At the same time, as mentioned earlier, drivers will have to prove that they themselves drive well. Telemetry data from the last week and Tesla Insurance calculator will be used for estimation.

During the first days, only those drivers who will be assessed for the maximum 100 points will receive access. Tesla will then lower the entry threshold little by little, but it’s unclear how much.

Also remember that access to the FSD function, which is still in beta, costs $ 10,000. So not every Tesla owner will be able to try out the best autopilot available in a production car.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 may receive a solar panel

Published

on

Samsung has been producing smartwatches since 2013. The most recent novelties are now the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (review). And the company continues to work in this direction.

A new smartwatch patent was obtained by Samsung from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and describes “An electronic device containing multiple types of solar cells.”

the patent describes a Samsung Galaxy Watch with a strap that has solar panels embedded on both sides of the watch case. Such a watch will be able to recharge its battery from the sun. Placing solar cells on either side of the watch case allows for ample amount of sunlight to be collected, no matter how the watch is worn.

The Korean manufacturer describes the use of various types of solar cells that can provide relatively high efficiency.

As noted by LetsGoDigital, such a watch may come out under the name Galaxy Watch 5 or Galaxy Watch Solar, but no specifics are yet known. Brands like Garmin and Casio have already shown that such solutions are possible. This allows us to hope for a relatively early release of such Samsung watches.
