Samsung is in full swing preparing for the premiere of new flagships with flexible screens – Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, but the famous insider Evan Blass (Evan Blass) has already published their high-quality (probably official) images. Alas, there is no full range of colors, but these pictures confirm the design and some features of the models.

So, you can see that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 received a triple main camera and support for a digital pen S Pen, while the Galaxy Z Flip 3 received a dual camera and a larger external screen. In general, the renders confirm the rumors that circulated about these models.

According to preliminary data, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be announced on August 3. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is credited with a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED external screen and a 7.5-inch internal screen (also Super AMOLED). In both cases, there will be a frame rate of 120Hz and support for HDR10 +.

The hardware basis of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be SoC Snapdragon 888, RAM – 12 or 16 GB, flash memory – 256 or 512 GB. The main camera will use sensors with a resolution of 12 megapixels, the resolution of the sensors of the front cameras will be 10 (in the external display) and 16 (in the internal) megapixels. Also, the smartphone is assigned stereo speakers and a 4400 mAh battery with support for 25 W fast charging. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to be around 20% cheaper than the current generation model.

The characteristics of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 are traditionally more modest. The diagonal of the outer screen is 1.83 inches, the inner one is 6.7 inches. The resolution of the front camera is 10 megapixels, both sensors of the main camera are 12 megapixels. This model is credited with a 3300 mAh battery and 15-watt charging.

Evan Blass is a trusted insider who has posted official images of mobile devices before their announcement. At one time, with its help, accurate images of Sony Xperia 5 II, Galaxy Note20, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Tab S7, Galaxy Watch 3 and Samsung Galaxy Buds Live leaked to the Network (of course, before their official premiere).

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is the first smartphone with Android

Samsung’s flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold4, was unveiled this week and is immediately available for pre-order. According to Samsung, the new foldable flagship comes with One UI 4.1.1 out of the box and has a host of new features for optimal multitasking that have been developed “together with partners.”

The main attention during the announcement was given to design, screens and cameras, but an important novelty went unnoticed. The fact is that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is the first smartphone that will ship out of the box with the Android 12L operating system.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is the first smartphone with Android 12L

Google initially introduced the L version of Android 12 back in October 2021, and then reminded about it six months later. L stands for large screens, meaning this operating system is designed for foldable smartphones, tablets, and Chrome OS devices. Android 12L can be installed on any device, but it’s optimized for multitasking and apps have been redesigned for larger screens.

Google apps are arranged in two columns, making it easier to navigate on the square display, while productivity and social media apps also know when the device is folded, so they switch to their normal orientation.

Android 12L will only be in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 for now, the small Flip4 clamshell has received the standard version of Android 12.

In the morning we published a comparison of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Xiaomi Mix Fold 2.

The smartphone market is declining but Apple does not

According to Bloomberg, Apple does not expect iPhone sales to fall in 2022 amid a general slowdown in the smartphone market. The Cupertino-based company expects iPhone demand to continue strong and has asked suppliers to produce 90 million iPhone 14 models, which is the same as the iPhone 13 production in the same period last year.

Apple expects to release about 220 million iPhones in 2022, which is the same level as 2021 production. Bloomberg sources said that Apple could weather the downturn in the smartphone market because Apple’s customer base is still willing to spend money on premium devices.

Until 2021, Apple released about 75 million new smartphones. In 2021, that number increased to 90 million as the company anticipated high demand for iPhone 13 models, and Apple is now sticking to that bar for 2022.

Earlier, Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known analyst at Tianfeng International, said that the current supply chain of the iPhone 14 line of smartphones has not been affected, so the smartphones will be released as scheduled.

For the first time in five years, Apple is due to radically change the design of its flagship smartphones: judging by the available data, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will lose the notch that appeared in the iPhone X and will receive screens with two cutouts. Some people call these cutouts an exclamation point, others think they look like the letter i.

While this change has been met with mixed reception, according to user feedback on social media, it does allow for more effective screen real estate. This note provides a comparison of the screens of the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro.

This design, in theory, will allow more icons and other information to be displayed in the status bar on either side of the cutouts.

This week, Apple released another beta version of iOS 16 to developers, which returned the battery percentage icon to the top right of the screen. However, not everyone liked this decision.

The presentation of the iPhone 14 line is expected in September. The minimum amount of flash memory iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be 256 GB, so smartphones will rise in price.
