ZTE-owned Nubia brand today introduced its version of the flagship smartphone based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Nubia Z50 continues the traditions laid down in its predecessors: the main camera module has a 35 mm EGF lens, while the vast majority of other models use lenses with EGF 23-24 mm.

Not so wide-angle, but quite a fast aperture: the lens aperture is F / 1.6. The main module also uses a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 sensor and has an optical image stabilization system.

The second module is simpler – and without OIS (but with autofocus). It uses a Samsung S5KJN1 sensor and a 116° ultra wide-angle lens (this module also supports macro shooting). Looking at the images of the phone, you might think that there are three modules in the camera that are responsible for shooting, but this is not so: in a small “round” there is a multi-channel spectral sensor, and the ring outside is a flash. The front camera has a 16-megapixel OmniVision OV16A1Q sensor.

Nubia Z50 received a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a frame rate of 144 Hz. The display is characterized by a peak brightness of 1000 cd/sq.m. and covering 100% of the DCI-P3 color space.

The back panel can be made of plastic with a leather-like texture, but in the classic case, the lid is made of glass on the outside. The side frame is metal.

Together with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the phone received LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 flash memory. the software platform is Android 13 with the MyOS 13 interface. The battery capacity was 5000 mAh, it supports 80 W fast charging (of course, by wire). The creators say that in standby mode the phone can work up to 30 days.

The thickness and weight of the “leather” version of the Nubia Z50 is 8.71 mm and 197 grams, the glass version is 8.46 mm and 199 grams. Among other things, the phone received stereo speakers and an NFC chip.

As for prices, they are as follows: 8/128GB $430, 8/256GB $490, 12/256GB $530, 12/512GB $575, 16GB/1TB $860. Starting today, the phone is available for pre-order, and retail sales in China will start on December 23.

The Chinese resource ITHome announced when phones of the once flagship Xiaomi Mi 10 line will receive MIUI 14. This will happen in April this year. Moreover, the update will be based on Android 13, not Android 13.

In general, the company adheres to the strategy of releasing a unified Adrenaline driver for all models of its video cards (at least for those based on the RDNA3 and RDNA2 architectures), and Frank Azor once again confirmed this. But only recently the implementation of this strategy has stalled.
