Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 50 MP, 100x zoom, 100 W, IP 68. Honor introduced Magic 4 and Magic 4 Pro – their best camera phones
Honor today officially unveiled the flagship smartphones of the Magic line – Magic 4 and Magic 4 Pro. It should be noted that the details about these new products that appeared the day before were fully confirmed.
“The Honor Magic4 is the quintessence of innovative technology and an undeniable testament to our commitment to constantly challenging industry standards.”, said the head of Honor, George Zhao, introducing the novelties. Indeed, unlike the models of the Honor 50 and Honor 60 series, there are no compromises here – everything is as it should be for flagships.
The novelties are built on SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and are equipped with curved OLED screens made using LTPO technology. The panels are characterized by a diagonal of 6.81 inches, a resolution of 2664 x 1224 pixels, a maximum brightness of 1000 cd / m2 and coverage of 100% of the DCI-P3 color space. Magic 4 Pro received a 12-megapixel front camera, supplemented by a second module, which is responsible for analyzing the depth of the scene. Magic 4 also has a 12-megapixel front camera, but without an additional module. Honor notes that the PWM frequency of Magic 4 screens is 1920 Hz, which is the highest rate for displays made using LTPO technology.
Fingerprint scanners – sub-screen, based on second-generation Qualcomm ultrasonic sensors. The older model is protected from dust and water in accordance with the degree of IP68, the protection of the younger one is simpler – IP54. Both smartphones run Android 12 with Magic UI 6.0.
The main cameras of both smartphones are very large, the company calls them the “eye of the muse”. There are four modules in the Magic 4 Pro camera. The first is with a 50MP 1/1.56″ optical format sensor and a wide-angle lens, the second is with a 50MP 1/2.5″ optical format sensor and a 122° ultra wide-angle lens, and the third is with a 64MP sensor optical format 1/2 inch and periscope lens with optical zoom 3.5x and 100x digital. Finally, the fourth module is the 3D ToF camera.
In Honor Magic 4, the two main modules are the same as in the older model. The third – with an 8-megapixel sensor, 5x optical and 50x digital zoom.
Honor Magic 4 Pro received a 4600 mAh battery that supports 100 W charging both wired and wirelessly. In Honor Magic 4, the battery capacity was 4800 mAh, and the maximum charging power was 66 watts. At the top, each model has 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of flash memory.
The Magic 4 is priced at €900 in Europe for the 8GB RAM and 256GB flash version. Magic 4 Pro with the same amount of memory is priced at 1100 euros.

In the US, apparently, only the latter will be sold at a price of $1,000. In Europe, they will already ask for 1200 euros for it. The base model Razr will be available in select countries in Europe, Latin America, and Asia, but pricing has not yet been announced. It is expected that it will be around 700-800 euros. It’s still cheaper than other similar smartphones, but not as revolutionary as $560.

In the case of tablets, iPadOS 16 is installed on 71% of all active iPads. Another 20% remain on iPadOS 15, while older versions are installed on 9% of devices.

Best Android smartphones in terms of price and performance: Meizu 20 series topped the AnTuTu ranking twice
The AnTuTu benchmark team has published the latest rankings of the best Android smartphones in terms of price and performance in different price categories – as of the end of May 2023.
Experts noted the success of OnePlus and Oppo among economical sub-flagships and mid-range phones. In addition, the triumphant return of Meizu is celebrated with the Meizu 20 series, whose representatives took first place in two ratings at once.
In the cheapest category under 1999 yuan (up to $282), the first three places went to OnePlus Ace Racing Edition, iQOO Neo7 SE and Realme GT Neo5 SE.
The next price bracket, from 2000 to 2999 yuan ($283 to $424), gave the top three spots to the Remi K60, Lenovo Legion Y70 and Remi K60 Pro.
In the 3,000 to 3,999 yuan ($425 to $565) category, Meizu 20, iQOO Neo8 Pro, and iQOO 11 lead the way.
The Meizu 20 Pro, Oppo Find X6 and Xiaomi 13 Pro smartphones topped the 4,000 yuan to 4,999 yuan ($566 to $707) category.
Among the most expensive flagships above $708, the Red Magic 8 Pro+ leads the way, followed by the Oppo Find X6 Pro and Honor Magic5 Pro.
