There is no exact data yet on when Xiaomi will present its budget flagship Mi 11 Lite, but an image of the stand for it has already appeared on the Web with a description of the main characteristics. The photo was taken in Italy, which indicates the imminent release of the Mi 11 Lite at least in Europe.

The Mi 11 will have two versions: with 5G support based on SoC Snapdragon 775G and with LTE modem – based on Snapdragon 732G. All other parameters of these models will be the same. So, smartphones use an OLED panel with a frame rate of 90 Hz and a camera embedded in the corner, as well as a triple main camera with a main sensor with a resolution of 64 megapixels.

We know from previous leaks that the Mi 11 Lite has a 4,150 mAh battery and marks the title of the thinnest 5G smartphone. The price of the Mi 11 Lite 5G for Europe is also known, but the Mi 11 Lite 4G will be noticeably cheaper. Approximately 100 euros.

Five years ago, a generation of full-screen smartphones was born: the first was the Xiaomi Mi Mix

Published

It’s hard to believe, but exactly five years have passed since the announcement of the first smartphone, which was devoid of the upper screen frame, Xiaomi Mi Mix.

Lei Jun, founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group, said that five years ago, the concept of full screen mode became a leader in mobile phone design.

Xiaomi Mix received a 6.4-inch display, which occupies 91.1% of the front panel area. Despite the huge diagonal for a smartphone, in terms of body dimensions, it approximately corresponded to the iPhone 7 Plus and other smartphones with 5.5-inch displays.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix was developed by renowned designer Philippe Starck and has a ceramic back cover. The speaker was replaced by a solution based on piezoelectric ceramic technology. The traditional infrared proximity sensor has been replaced by an ultrasonic sensor. As for the front camera, it is located in a frame under the display.

More recently, the first foldable smartphone of the series, the Xiaomi Mix Fold, has entered the market.

Samsung trolled the bangs in the iPhone, and will eventually use it in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra

Prominent informant Steve Hemmerstoffer, aka OnLeaks, has released the first computer-generated images of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra flagship tablet.

The biggest design innovation of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra should be a bang-shaped cutout. Despite the presence of this element, this tablet, like the recently announced MacBook Pro laptop, does not support 3D facial recognition.

It is worth remembering that after the release of the iPhone X, Samsung released a whole series of black PR videos in which it made fun of the large cutout in the screen, which was very unusual at that time. After a few years, the company doesn’t seem to regard bangs as the same ridiculous element as they once did.

The source adds that only the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will receive such a notch, while the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8 + will not have bangs. In terms of specs, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will have a 14.6-inch display, the Galaxy Tab S8 will have an 11-inch display, and the Galaxy Tab S8 + will have a 12.4-inch display.

Steve Hemmerstoffer at the beginning of the year published high-quality renders of the Samsung Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphones, which were later fully confirmed.

Full redesign of iPhone 14: periscope camera and small hole in the screen

Published

on

According to Mydrivers, LG Innotek is developing a periscope zoom lens for Apple, which is expected to be used in iPhones from 2022 or 2023.

Apple’s rival Samsung pioneered the periscope zoom lens in the Galaxy S20 series launched in January last year. Many other Android-based flagships from Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo and other companies also actively use similar modules.

In the iPhone 13 Pro, despite using new image sensors and larger lenses, the optical zoom is only 3x. The difference with Android flagships remains very, very large.

The addition of a periscope camera should noticeably change the design of the rear panel. And if you consider the rumors of ditching the bangs in favor of a hole for the front camera, then the iPhone 14 may well bring the biggest design update since 2017, when the iPhone X hit the market.

The presentation of the iPhone 14 is expected in September next year.
