SilentiumPC Fluctus 120 PWM fan blade shape selected with psychoacoustic considerations in mind
Introducing the Fera 5 and Fera 5 Dual Fan processor cooling systems in April, SilentiumPC promised that the new Fluctus 120 PWM fans used in their design will be available separately. The manufacturer kept his word – the new product appeared in the catalog. It is priced at 10.90 euros.
The Fluctus 120 PWM fan is designed in conjunction with Synergy Cooling and features high static pressure, high airflow and low noise. It can be installed both on LSS radiators with a high density of fins, and in housings, the ventilation openings of which are covered with filters. The design includes an upgraded fluid-dynamic bearing with an MTBF of 100,000 hours. The manufacturer provides a six-year warranty on the fan.
The good performance of the Fluctus 120 PWM is provided by a nine-blade impeller with serrated leading edges. The shape of the blades was chosen taking into account psychoacoustics – the noise spectrum is obtained in such a way that the noise is perceived as more “pleasant” at the same level. Dampers are installed around the perimeter to prevent vibration transmission. The rotation speed is adjustable in the range of 300-1800 rpm. The fan automatically stops when the PWM duty cycle falls below 5% and restarts when it rises above 10%. The fan is equipped with a 4-pin power cable with a built-in splitter, which allows a second fan to be daisy-chained. The kit includes a 40 cm extension cord.

The Briton was jailed for spying on his ex. To do this, he used the AirTag tag.

In the UK, there was a curious case – 41-year-old Christopher Paul Trotman used an AirTag tag from Apple to track his ex-girlfriend. He glued the device to the rear bumper of the car and for some time tracked the location of the vehicle. And then he wrote the girl a message and revealed the fact of surveillance of her. As a result, he was detained, he is now in prison awaiting trial. Most likely, after the hearings, he will be released, but he will be banned from approaching the former at the level of a court decision.
As noted, the victim uses an iPhone, and she received a notification that an unknown AirTag was located next to her, but the girl ignored the information because she simply did not know about such a possibility in iOS.
Note that the latest improvements to AirTag include anti-stalking features. First, iPhone users will be automatically alerted if an unknown AirTag moves near them (which it did). Secondly, the tag will make a sound if it is far from the owner for a long time.
Initially, the tags only worked with the iPhone, but later the company released Android, which allows their phone owners to search for AirTag.
We previously reported on how to properly use the AirTag to get the most out of it.

“One day it will be on Mars,” Elon Musk showed new “sexy” tests of the Starship rocket

SpaceX founder Elon Musk has published on his page a couple of new photos that show static fire tests of engines on the Starship B7 spacecraft.
After successfully conducting the latest tests, Musk wrote: “We are going to try to run the engine for a long time to test the autogenous seal.”
The billionaire signed one of the photos as follows: “One day it will be on Mars.”
Musk posted a meme this week implying that Starship’s static fire tests are too sexy and that watching them is keeping him from “living a normal, productive life.”
According to the forecast, the first orbital test launch of Starship can take place both in a month and within the next year. It all depends on the success of bench tests.
