Server market is expected to grow by more than 5% this year

The server market has grown steadily over the past two years. Even the pandemic and economic uncertainty did not prevent this. The growth will continue this year as well. It will exceed 5%. This forecast is given by the specialists of TrendForce, noting that in the last quarter more than 40% of demand for non-servers came from customers of large data centers. In their opinion, this year the size of this segment will reach 45%.

Analysts are confident that the server market will not be affected by the semiconductor shortage that has hit the industry and has proven to be the most painful for automakers.

Server demand in China, which accounted for about 27.2% of global sales in the first quarter of 2021, continues to grow. The main drivers of demand are favorable policies and support from domestic cloud providers. The growth is fueled by the development of large data centers across the country and the fact that Chinese telecommunications companies purchase servers primarily from local manufacturers. The Chinese market leaders are Inspur and Huawei.
