Scientists suggest the presence of black holes in the Hyades cluster
The idea of black holes hiding in star clusters is not new. Clusters often contain large, bright stars that will eventually become either neutron stars or black holes. Therefore, it is assumed that similar events have already occurred in the cluster. However, the problem lies in proving this. If a black hole is not actively consuming nearby material, it will be dark and difficult to detect among the bright stars of the cluster. Therefore, to detect the presence of a black hole, astronomers have to use indirect observations.
To search for black holes, astronomers compared observations of the Hyades cluster by the Gaia space telescope (Global Astrometric Interferometer for Astrophysics) with computer simulations of N-bodies. The Hyades is an open cluster of stars that is loosely bound by gravity. Sometimes a collision between two stars ejects one of them from the cluster, and other collisions bring the star closer to the center of the cluster, making it more firmly connected to it. All this affects how the distribution density of stars in a cluster changes with distance from its center.
One of the parameters the team focused on in the study was the radius within which half the cluster’s mass is contained. If black holes are present, the cluster should be slightly denser, and therefore the half-mass radius should be smaller. Another aspect is the central density, which should, on the contrary, increase if there are black holes there. Based on the results, the best model predicts the presence of two or three stellar-mass black holes in the cluster.
These results are not conclusive: although two to three black holes are the best approximation of the observed data, a model with no black holes or the existence of up to five black holes is still a reasonable approximation. Moreover, the conclusion has not been conclusively confirmed by Gaia observational data.
The team even looked at 56 stars in the cluster that were candidates for binary stars, in case one of them was a star orbiting a black hole, but none of these candidates matched the model of a black hole as a companion.
Thus, although the possibility of the existence of a stellar-mass black hole in the Hyades has not been ruled out, additional observations will be required to determine this more accurately. Only after this will scientists be able to provide final confirmation of the calculations.

There is scattered data about the camera: some sources say that the device will have a 200-megapixel sensor as the main one, others attribute to it the same inch Sony IMX989 sensor as the Xiaomi 13 Pro. At the same time, everyone agrees that the remaining two sensors will be 50-megapixel.

As the developers promise, Vivaldi for iOS has its own unique look thanks to a set of built-in tools, including tabs, Express Panel, control panels, notes, reading list, and a tracking and ad blocker. The synchronization function between devices is also supported – bookmarks, Express panel, passwords, form data, history of entered addresses and notes are synchronized using end-to-end encryption.
You can store all your important links in the Express Dashboard for quick access. The tab bar is designed to look like tabs on a PC for quick switching. The tab switcher gives you access to public, private, synced, and recently closed tabs.
Built-in Notes let you quickly jot down interesting information. You can copy data from the site through the context menu. Users also have access to a “Reading List” in which they can save web pages for later viewing.
The built-in tracking and ad blocker can be configured for individual sites. To increase privacy, there is a private tabs mode in which search queries, visited sites, cookies and temporary files will not be saved by the browser. Other features include easily changing the search engine, choosing an application icon from a variety of options, an interface for large iPad screens, and so on.

The 13.2-inch gadget is positioned as the world’s thinnest and lightest large tablet with an edge-to-edge screen. It weighs 580 grams, is 5.5mm thick, has a screen frame that’s just 3.4mm wide, and takes up 94% of the front panel area.
The tablet is equipped with an OLED screen with a resolution of 2880 × 1920 pixels and an image refresh rate of 144 Hz. The hardware basis was the Kirin 9000s platform, as in the Mate 60 series smartphones. Also among the characteristics are a front camera (16 MP and 3D ToF), a main camera (13 and 8 MP), six speakers (two high-frequency and four low-frequency), a battery with a capacity of 10 100 mAh with support for 88 W charging and HarmonyOS 4 operating system.
