Sapphire Unveils Radeon RX 6800 NITRO + Series Graphics Cards

Today, AMD and AiB partners are launching custom versions of the Radeon RX 6800 series graphics cards. Sapphire is one of the first to introduce its solutions with the NITRO + series. A distinctive feature of this line is an effective cooling system that can maintain stable operation of the video card at peak loads.

Sapphire has unveiled the Radeon RX 6800 NITRO +, Radeon RX 6800 XT NITRO + and Radeon RX 6800 XT NITRO + SE graphics cards.

Cool Tech II with a WAVE Fin design and a V-shaped heatsink is responsible for cooling video cards. This design allows to reduce air resistance, noise level, and accelerates and centers the air flow.

Radeon RX 6800 NITRO + and Radeon RX 6800 XT NITRO +

For air supply, fans are used, the design of which is an intermediate solution between an axial fan and a blower fan, which provides high pressure with low noise level. The fan in the center has a smaller diameter (90 mm) than the outer ones (100 mm). He moves clockwise, and the extreme ones – counter.

A rigid metal plate is installed on the back of the card, which increases strength and participates in heat dissipation. Here you can find that the length of the cooler is longer than the board, and on the edge there is a large grille for through ventilation. The plate itself looks quite impressive with a predominantly steel color.

The side panel contains backlighting elements that can be customized. In the “SE” version, the backlight is also present on the fans.

To configure the operation of video cards, the SAPPHIRE TriXX software is offered, where you can adjust the backlight, fan speed and other parameters. There is a dual BIOS function to switch between performance and quiet operation.

Supported GPU frequencies of the presented novelties of the NITRO + series (base / game):

• Radeon RX 6800 – 1980 and 2190 MHz;
• Radeon RX 6800 XT – 2110 and 2360 MHz;
• Radeon RX 6800 XT SE – 2110 and 2360 MHz.

The height of the graphics cards is 2.7 slots, the power consumption is 290 W for the RX 6800 and 350 W for the RX 6800 XT, including the SE version.

The Chinese portal Mydrivers has revealed the prices of new products: Sapphire Nitro + Radeon RX 6800 – about $ 699, Sapphire Nitro + Radeon RX 6800 XT – $ 775.

As for the availability of custom versions of Radeon RX 6800 video cards from Sapphire and other brands, difficulties are foreseen with this. For example, only a handful of reviewers have already received cards for testing, suggesting supply difficulties or severe shortages.
