Samsung has big plans for next year and goes beyond the traditional flagship Galaxy S lineup and possibly ditching the Galaxy Note series. Also in 2021, the South Korean manufacturer plans to release several new foldable devices. This was confirmed by sources from the Korean portal ETNews.
Four new foldable Samsung smartphones will hit the market in 2021, according to the publication. These will be two models from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold line and two from the Galaxy Z Flip series. The smartphones will have different features and specifications, but all four will receive support for 5G cellular networks. Their mass production will start tentatively in August this year.
Also, Korean sources have confirmed that the third generation Samsung Galaxy Z Fold will receive support for the proprietary S Pen stylus. This is what many Samsung fans have been waiting for since the first Galaxy Fold. Unfortunately, its display is too fragile to support a stylus. How Samsung will be able to strengthen the screen in the next generation of foldable smartphone, insiders did not specify.
By the way, until today, S Pen support is an exclusive feature of the Samsung Galaxy Note series, which, in fact, remains its only difference from other flagship models of the brand. Realizing that the boundaries between smartphones are gradually blurring as the display diagonal increases, Samsung decided to bury its popular Galaxy Note line. How fans of the series will react to this decision is anyone’s guess.
We add that 2021 promises to be quite interesting for the mobile industry, since in addition to Samsung, such brands as Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo and Google should present their foldable smartphones. And we expect that the emergence of new players and the expansion of the range will inevitably lead to lower prices for flexible devices.

Triple camera, 120Hz, 5000mAh for only $120. Introduced inexpensive smartphone ZTE Travel 30

ZTE’s range of smartphones has been replenished with the Travel 30 model. It differs from many other low-cost smartphones by using a single-chip Spreadtrum system instead of Unisoc. And yet, despite the low price, there is a fingerprint scanner and a screen with a frame rate of 120 Hz!
However, the screen resolution is small – 1600 x 720 pixels, diagonal – 6.52 inches. The display, of course, IPS – OLED is not supposed to be such cheap models. The hardware platform is based on SoC Spreadtrum SC9863A from 2018. The 28nm process, eight 1.6GHz Arm Cortex-A55 cores, a PowerVR GE8322 GPU, and an LTE Cat.7 modem are all typical of a low-cost four-year-old SoC.
The front camera is characterized by a resolution of 5 megapixels, in the main camera – sensors with a resolution of 13, 2 and 2 megapixels. The battery capacity was 5000 mAh, it supports 10 W charging. There is also a standard headphone jack, a fingerprint scanner, a face recognition function implemented in the front camera, and a voice assistant.
ZTE didn’t go for the massive amounts of flash storage currently offered by budget smartphone makers for about $100: it’s the only configuration with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of flash, and it’s priced at $120.

Perhaps this is what the new flagship smartphone HTC Viverse looks like. Renders published

The official premiere of the HTC Viverse smartphone is expected on June 28. According to preliminary data, this will be the flagship model to actively use virtual and augmented reality technologies, which, in general, is reflected in the title.
Images have been posted online that may show Viverse posing. If it is true in the pictures, then the HTC flagship will receive a rounded metal frame of the screen and a conditionally frameless display with a front camera embedded in the corner. Large circular cutout on the top edge, probably for the IR emitter.
There are no technical details about Vivierse, but since we are talking about the flagship, and even with an emphasis on virtual reality technologies, it is logical to think about using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC as part of the hardware platform.
