Samsung will earn a lot again, but again not thanks to smartphones. There was a forecast for the third financial quarter

Published

on

Samsung again predicts excellent financial results for the next quarter. The third fiscal quarter for the Korean giant should end with an operating profit of about $ 13.8 billion.

In annual terms, this will correspond to an increase of 31.9%. At the same time, revenue will grow by 12.2% to $ 63 billion. Compared to the previous quarter, the growth will be 29.7% and 18%, respectively.

The reason for the growth, as in the previous quarter, primarily lies in the huge demand for semiconductors. It is this division that will bring the company most of the profits (about 60%). The change in the exchange rate of the Korean won will also contribute.

But with smartphones, everything is not so good. The division’s operating income is expected to be $ 2.95-3.2 billion versus $ 3.75 billion a year earlier. At the same time, Samsung is expected to sell 69 million smartphones for the quarter. Sales of the flexible Galaxy Z models of the new generation are exceeding expectations, but they may not have a big impact on the overall situation.
