Samsung unveils flagship SoC Exynos 2100

Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Exynos 2100 single chip system, which is manufactured using a 5nm process using Deep Ultraviolet Photolithography (EUV).

The Exynos 2100 cuts power consumption by 20% and improves overall performance by 10% over the previous 7nm platform. In addition, the new SoC offers improved cache memory usage. The octa-core central processor includes one powerful Arm Cortex-X1 core clocked at up to 2.9GHz, three high-performance Cortex-A78s and four energy-efficient Cortex-A55s, delivering more than 30 percent increase in multi-core processing power over its predecessor.

The graphics processor supports Vulkan and OpenCL, improves graphics performance by over 40%. The capabilities of artificial intelligence are also improved thanks to the triple-core neuroprocessor. The Exynos 2100 can perform up to 26 Trillion Operations Per Second (TOPS) with more than double the energy efficiency of the previous generation.

The advanced image processor (ISP) in the Exynos 2100 supports cameras up to 200MP. The platform can use up to six separate sensors and process information from four of them simultaneously. AI helps the device to easily recognize scenes, faces, and objects to optimize camera settings for crisp, detailed images.

The maximum downlink speed reaches 5.1 Gbps in sub-6 GHz and 7.35 Gbps in mmWave or 3.0 Gbps in 4G networks with 1024 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (1024-QAM).

SoC Exynos 2100 has already been launched into mass production.

Creative Data Studios has developed a plug-in for Microsoft Word called Ghostwriter ChatGPT that adds chatbot functionality to a text editor. The novelty was created without the participation of Microsoft.

There are currently two versions of the plugin available: $10 and $25. The first is limited to short responses of two paragraphs and uses only the ChatGPT language model. A more advanced one is devoid of such restrictions, it uses all OpenAI models. You can install the plugin through the Office Add-in Store.

In addition, the developers promise an early release of similar plug-ins for all applications from the Microsoft package: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote. After the release of the add-on pack, users who have already purchased the plugin for Word will receive a discount.

According to Patrick Husting, who developed Ghostwriter, Microsoft will most likely disable Ghostwriter in the future when its own implementation of ChatGPT support is ready. However, this option can still be used.

Earlier it was reported that Microsoft has already added support for the GPT-3.5 model to Teams Premium, which will allow the neural network to listen to conversations, draw notes and plans based on the results. Microsoft also plans to add ChatGPT to the Bing search engine, but there, according to rumors, there will already be GPT-4.
